There's an intriguing pattern occurring around 0:58 that is comprised of a stack cymbal and high-pitched crash being played in a pattern in 3-8 (each), but within different parts of the bar(s). At the end, Taylor automated the room mics so they'd increase in the mix; this is something similar to what Hayato had programmed. To put some stuff clear, this track is the barebone of our album Februus (Uneven Structure is the band), now this track doesn't exists as it is and the riffs have been spread all over the album but be sure of one thing, this is nothing compared to the content on Februus (and no I'm not bullshitting you all), the whole album is much more intense, groovy, ambient and full of emotions and we're really happy with what has come from this little track. It is the first proper time I have used any EQ and production software and so any suggestions people have to improve my sound, please feel free to speak. The song is called Obscure, it is from an upcoming album I will release sooner or later, called Nebula. This is not the final version of the song, I am just putting this up so people can see where i am at and so I can receive criticism on how to make it better. I will re-record this and all my other songs when I have found a way to perfect my tone and recording quality. My style is strongly influenced by bands like Periphery, Meshuggah, Dream Theater, Tesseract, Animals As Leaders etc. I use a Dean ML Knight, with EMG 81/85 Active Pickups as my main instrument, I used an Ibanez Gio 4 string bass for the bass guitar, I used EZDrummer: Metalheads for the drums, and my Tone and FX come from PodFarm 2 and a Line 6 GX Interface. I used Reaper to track and add after FX My guitar is tuned in Drop C, but for the final version i will most likely drop to B. I am aware that compared to other "Djent" or modern metal songs the quality is not as great, so like I said before, PLEASE LEAVE TIPS ON HOW I CAN IMPROVE MY QUALITY. Things like EQ, mixing or tracking tips, or maybe some programs that may help. The most help I need is getting that thick tone that Periphery get, as i <b>...</b>

*I use the foam in the headstock to reduce string vibration between the nut and the tuners. Without it the strings produce unwanted resonance while playing. Also, I have a wad of newspaper around the tremolo springs for the same reason.* There! Little *cough* biased demonstration about how my pickup swapped Strat and stock RGA8 sound like with a djenty sound. The pickups make the most difference IMO although the string gauges and wood types have some effect on the tone too.
