Mt Cole, Victoria Australia - Venom's first outing in the H6 liberty to test out the L series low range and the centre diff lock from the rare L series AWD gearbox. I'm calling it a world first for the H6, L series low range and locking centre diff with front and rear LSDs as a drivetrain package. Very capable off road. We're now waiting for at least a rear manual diff locker to become available... One day! For now we'll continue 4wd'n our subi's without... 26/27 November 2011

Daves 2003 Outback ripping it up on the beach. The first time taking it on the sand, its completely stock with highway tyres and all. Its a 5speed manual, dual-range with open diffs and 2.5l engine. Went well, we didn't get stuck but had the handy Maxtrax with us in case. Running the tyres at 17psi. Also when he comes to a stop you can here the wheel beaing on the front right hand side is stuffed. More vids to come of the Outback, also Dav has a few mods planned in the near future.

25th year for my old subaru


I wanted to make a driving video, but I stripped the clutch to near useless. here is a cold start instead. Sat for five days, an ice storm, some frigid, now back to 44F degrees. I thought the engine was headed for fail, until I found the wax grade substance. I since have added small amount of toluene to a premixed oil. Seems to be gaining slowly. 135k miles, original engine, transmission, and rear end. 1987 is significant in that it is the last for carburated, no computer. It needed alot to make it normal (ie: spfi camshafts, and alot of steel), but it was worthwhile for a one of a kind. This is dual range AWD. I joke to call it a 15 speed. the very slow time to gain normal warm runtime is not bad news to me. When it finally starts smoking full warm it smells like wax, gets quiet, and the smoke stops eventually. Attributed to the felpro permatorque. Alot of other chores to mention, but that is in my blog. up next is a no excuse stage 1 clutch by spec. this engine with factory advance and cams still lost the clutch through the years. Now with all four cyls firing decent..I won't attempt factory clutch again.

The dual range full-time 3.7 transmission is from an '87 RX and has been dropped to standard Outback 4:11 with a matching limited slip rear differential. You can see how the transmission crawls slower than most Subarus, which makes 4 wheeling on light 4wd trails smoother/more enjoyable.

I took out ALL the smog, all the vacuum lines that did nothing, and of course, the muffler. It runs way better without all that crap on it. It sounds really cool with the duel exhaust on it.
