I hate watching fellow You Tubers doing EDC videos. I'm not talking about what Guns, knives or holsters that you use daily (that is of interest to me) what I'm talking about are these videos where people empty their pockets and show off the cell phones, wallets, key chains and other assorted crap that they carry on their person daily. I hate the fact that I got suckered into doing one of those videos... If you didn't get it, it's just a joke! :)

Just a quick video for a subscriber requesting my EDC system. Very simple and basic compared to others, but I'm not the type to carry more than I actually need on an everyday basis. The system consist basically of my wallet, car keys, spyderco tenacious, maratac AAA flashlight, Kimber Pro CDP in a El Paso saddlery high ride holster, spare wilson combat 8rnd magazine in a galco holster. Also wearing a Marathon JSAR watch with stainless band. Video was shot with the Canon HF S10 camcorder at 24Mbps and 30fps with adjusted white balance.

I get many PM's about my current edc, and if it had changed after move to oregon. In all honesty I love the Maxpedition triad admin pouch, especially when Im wearing jeans without cargo pockets, which I often do. I really need to find a good light holster for my Surefire E2D and I'd be set. It may change this summer, for now this system works great.

PART 1 of 2: Here is a rundown of Nutnfancy's Every Day Carry (EDC) system under the Rule of Law. This system represents, for Nutnfancy, the best blend of capabilities and mobility found so far. Certainly there are lots of different options and methods of EDC out there with different gun, knife, and tool options some being a lot heavier and more capable than these. And if these items are indeed carried in completeness and with high regularity then I'll extend my congrats on finding a system that works for you. However with this system I have yet to see or run into any friend or cohort that has more capabilities than I do. I'm always the one fixing things, patching people up, and fulfilling the sheepdog role with this system. And, if the jurisdiction legalities permit, I always have it on me. That's because it is easy and comfortable to carry. I minimize weight and bulk and integrate most things into a quick attachable system like a quality and small fanny pack (like the Mountainsmith Vibe II shown) to greatly simplify the system. Capabilities include a semi-auto Kahr PM9 pistol with 19 rds, Al Mar Eagle knife, Leatherman S2 Juice, Streamlight Stylus flashlight, Orion whistle, flat tweezers, Neosporin antibiotic, nail file and other various hygiene items, wallet (includes some bandages and alcohol wipes), and a pen. As shown, gun is carried in a bellyband with some velcro modifications made by Nutnfancy. Downsides of this carry are slower draw and inability to re-holster <b>...</b>

This is my current Every Day Carry (EDC) bag. It is used in an Urban setting, so there are several items that are not included because I felt were more suited for a Rural setting. It also does not contain a Gun, Knife or Multi-Tool those are all included with my "on my person" EDC. The backpack is a Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon-II and the total weight of the EDC is 15.2 pounds (including full water bottle). I am not a law enforcement officer, military or self proclaimed outdoor survival expert. I am just a white collar family guy who likes to be prepared for most situations. I did do A LOT of research before purchasing all of the items included in this video. Please leave constructive comments. I'm always looking for ways to improve my Urban EDC. You will love it, the wife will hate it (well most wives). In 2009, Benchmade has issued several intriguing designs that should awaken many of its fans to spend yet again more money on their knife passion...again disconcerting many spouses. But the tractor beam of Benchmade is pulling hard in 2009. Example: The Model 890 is a beautiful US-made knife featuring smooth, matte finished G10 scales that provide contrast against the stonewashed finished 154CM blade. The Steigerwalt-designed blade has a strong tip, good belly, an atractive unsharpened top swedge, and razor sharpness that terminates out of a 3/4 flat grind. Its 3.6" length could provide adequate reach in emergency defensive use and has plenty of strength. What it doesn't have is jimping on the short run of flat spine topside, a perplexing miss. That, coupled with the slick scales, absolutely no thumb ramp, and a shallow finger guard, might make a thrust attack with the 890 non-optimal. But its triangular pommel can deliver some devasting impacts both in the closed and open position and is a outstanding feature. The 3.6 oz weight is light for the cutting performance achieved but may have been a little lighter had the liners been skeletonized. Other upsides include: loop-shaped clip carries the knife deep, authoratative and fast "Nitrous" assisted opening, rock solid lockup, beveled G10 slot for deployment access, flow thru construction, ergonomic handle shape (fits hand well), and superb quality. One more downsided <b>...</b>

The Lone Wolf Blackfoot is a superbly built and special EDC blade. At 3.8 ounces the little Blackfoot (formerly the Dark Raven) isn't the lightest blade out there for your daily carry... but you won't care. That's because within that carry weight you have a rock solid knife that features hardened steel liners, pivot hardware, and a cryogenically treated (!) CPM S30V steel blade. Expect razor sharpness edge out of the box, outstanding edge holding, good rust resistence, and toughness. The black titanium nitride coated, modified clip blade is handsome, has great belly, a strong tip, and is perfectly finished. It's flat ground from the upper flat area but still performs EDC tasks like food preparation admirably and it seems to slice better than it should. And yes jimping is present! The short jimping run on the spine actually is functional and gives added traction. In 2010, you will have two choice of scale materials: high traction G10 or checkered and handsomely finished Ebano wood scales. The Ebano is my favorite as it is slimmer and more radiused in the shoulders for even better ergonomics. The slim pocket clip is blackened, low profile, and holds tightly (and is devoid of any "Wizard of Oz" issues). The Blackfoot unfortunately forces tip down carry but at least it rides deep in the pocket for security. If a good folding knife just isn't up to your cutting tasks then maybe it's time to upgrade to a compact fixed blade. The RAT 3 knife is a strong and superbly executed example. Although you will lose the comfort and portability of that folder, you'll gain strength of design. If your cutting is demanding and maybe includes a bit of prying or digging then the RAT 3 would be a good option. As far as fixed blades go, it's compact and rides nicely in its excellent plastic sheath. Available in D2 (limited) and 1095 steels and in a variety of nice colorations, it also comes in combo edges and features nicely profiled micarta handles. Carried for a long time, I know the Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT) Compact M16 EDC pretty well. And there's a lot to like: light 2.1 oz, fast opening, tight lockup with LAWKS safety, nicely designed clip, attractive finishing, good steel (154CM this one), and priced resonably. It's a tiny carry package that packs a 3" blade. Downsides would be a non-reversible clip, sometimes sticky liner lock, and a limited utility spear point blade for EDC tasks (I prefer more sweep, different blade shape). PART 2 of 2: Here is a rundown of Nutnfancy's Every Day Carry (EDC) system under the Rule of Law. This system represents, for Nutnfancy, the best blend of capabilities and mobility found so far. Certainly there are lots of different options and methods of EDC out there with different gun, knife, and tool options some being a lot heavier and more capable than these. And if these items are indeed carried in completeness and with high regularity then I'll extend my congrats on finding a system that works for you. However with this system I have yet to see or run into any friend or cohort that has more capabilities than I do. I'm always the one fixing things, patching people up, and fulfilling the sheepdog role with this system. And, if the jurisdiction legalities permit, I always have it on me. That's because it is easy and comfortable to carry. I minimize weight and bulk and integrate most things into a quick attachable system like a quality and small fanny pack (like the Mountainsmith Vibe II shown) to greatly simplify the system. Capabilities include a semi-auto Kahr PM9 pistol with 19 rds, Al Mar Eagle knife, Leatherman S2 Juice, Streamlight Stylus flashlight, Orion whistle, flat tweezers, Neosporin antibiotic, nail file and other various hygiene items, wallet (includes some bandages and alcohol wipes), and a pen. As shown, gun is carried in a bellyband with some velcro modifications made by Nutnfancy. Downsides of this carry are slower draw and inability to re-holster <b>...</b>

I must say that when I received my Triad Admin from Maxpedition I thought it was going to be too big or bulky, but I soon found out they did their research.
