Blast damages Indonesian embassy, Paris

www.euronews.com A homemade blomb has gone off outside the Indonesian embassy in Paris causing substantial damage. The alert was apparently given by an embassy employee who spotted a bag with two wires coming from it placed infront of a window at about 5.30 am. The man moved the bag to the middle of the street and shortly after it exploded, blowing out windows within a radius of 50 metres and causing two vehicles to ignite. Police say the device contained a "signifcant" amount of explosives although what type has not been identified. It is the second time the embassy has been attacked in less than a decade. Chinese Embassy Censors Indonesian Radio

ZHANG: Moving on to Indonesia... where the Chinese embassy is suspected of censoring the Sound of Hope Radio Network. The embassy is believed to have pressured the Indonesian government to stop the radio broadcast. Here's more from NTD's Jakarta correspondent. STORY: What started as political pressure has become an issue of press freedom. The Regional Broadcasting Commission, or KPI, in Riau has terminated Sound of Hope (called SOH in short) radio, according to Batam Island media. As part of the termination KPI says it will also seize all SOH assets on Batam Island, but SOH's director is contesting the termination. [Gatot Supriyanto Machali, SOH Director]: "It's not a secret that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is afraid of critical media, media who are brave enough to tell the facts. The CCP is afraid that its lies will all be exposed, so it tries to silence all such media. Critical doesn't mean we are anti-China. We only report on information according to the facts.” The crackdown on SOH radio has drawn attention from the Press Legal Aid Foundation and other non-government organisations, which filed a lawsuit on behalf of SOH. [Gatot Supriyanto Machali, SOH director]: "The Tribune newspaper reads, ‘No broadcasting early November' and my radio station, Sound of Hope, is mentioned in it. This is very strange and because of this SOH filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Communication and Information, the Broadcast Commission, KPI, and the Chinese embassy ...
