Ericeira is a fishing and seaside resort town on the west coast of Portugal, in the municipality of Mafra, about 50 km north-west of the centre of Lisbon. The Ribeira d'Ilhas Beach, which routinely hosts a round of the ASP World Tour Surf Championship and is widely-regarded as one of the best beaches in Europe [1] for the practice of this sport, is located 2 km to the north of the town. It is a popular destination for holiday-makers and amateur surfers, as there are over 40 beaches with good surf in the area]. Close to North is Coxos Break point, also one of the best European surf spots well known between pro-surfers. This is not an easy spot for beginners. Ericeira is also home for one of the first and biggest Portuguese Surf Associations\Clubs, Ericeira Surf Clube. This club, founded in 1993, derived from the surf section of Ericeira Naval Club, have been organizing local, regional and national competitions in surf, bodyboard, kneeboard and longboard trough out years. It also has a surf school to local athletes and tourists who want to learn how to surf.

Situated 30 min north of Lisbon airport you can find big smiles, plenty of waves, the beautiful blue ocean and some of the most accommodating people I have come across yet. I was asked to promote Ericeira by the owners of Seasound guesthouse. As the idea of advertising and commercialism does not settle to well with me, I decided to create more of an artistic film to show just how beautiful and cultural this little town is. Although it does accommodate a lively nightlife, I felt that showing that side would take away from the pureness of This Ericeira FIlm. Every where we go on the planet we can find clubs and parties but not everywhere has the vibe that comes deep within the heart of the culture, so this is what I decided to bring to the eyes of you. This is a promo that I shot for Ericeira Seasound Guesthouse and hostel. This was super fun to shoot because I was basically just hanging out at the hostel for a week, surfing and cruising while shooting the hole experience. After creating a non commercial film about Ericeira, I decided to make this one fun and show show the more touristy side of the place. Shot it on my canon 5dmkii. Such a great camera for doing this sort of stuff because its small and far less intrusive than a shoulder mounted camera. People feel a lot more comfortable with the 5D pointed at them rather than some big beast.
