Ahead of the Paris Motor Show, BMW has released the first pictures and video of the Concept 6-Series Coupe. Designed to be a "stylish and authentic expression of superior sports performance," the car is effectively a two-door version of the Concept Gran Coupe. As such, it features LED headlights, a massive twin-kidney grille, a four-tailpipe exhaust system, and 20-inch aluminum wheels. Inside, the cabin boasts two-tone leather upholstery, wood trim, and gloss black accents. Other goodies include a 10.2-inch iDrive display, a digital instrument cluster, and a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. Just like its predecessor, Renault CAPTUR defines the simple, sensuous and warm style that will be progressively extended to future Renault car designs. "CAPTUR is a fun and sporty crossover, ideal for a young couple about to discover the world" explains director of design, Laurens Van den Acker. "It takes as its basis the fundamental design language introduced on the DeZir concept car but adds a more technical dimension -- more functional but still highly sensuous," adds Axel Breun, director of concept cars. A crossover that's all muscle in motion In its proportions and fluid curves, Renault CAPTUR evokes movement and lightness, yet at the same time displaying powerful and muscular all-terrain cues. Inspired by Jason Castriota's exterior styling, we carried some of the aerospace inspired design, as well as the car's exterior design features, into the interior of the Tuatara. The main gauge cluster area is a glass screen that is lit up by Pico projectors behind, and is similar to a HUD (Heads Up Display). On the driver's side, 2 smaller HUD displays, are located on each side of the steering column; their design inspired by the Tuatara's rear winglets. On the right, the HUD displays the current gear of the car, and is flanked by a shift indicator light tree that provides the driver with valuable shift timing information. The left HUD displays any vital information the driver chooses. These settings are available through a menu on the central command console. The Tuatara will provide a unique, yet thrilling experience to its passengers by making them feel like more of a co-pilot instead of just a tag-along. Included in front of the passenger seat are 2 small auxiliary screens that provide the co-pilot information about the vehicle and their current experience, like its current speed, RPM or BHP. The Tuatara is one of the first production vehicles in the world to give this level of attention to the driving experience of the passenger.
