German tuning company AC Schnitzer has developed an excellent reputation for producing some stunning aftermarket accessories for all manner of BMW motorcycles. Most recently it has turned its attentions to that stunning workhorse the BMW F800GS. But rather than simply adding on choice bits and pieces, this time it has developed a complete new model: an G800GS supermoto. Replacing the off-road biased skinny wheels with wide 17-inch wire-spoked wheels has allowed a greater choice of sports rubber to be used, and turned the F800GS into a razor sharp back roads scratcher while retaining the ABS system. Add on one of the company's tried and trusted exhaust systems and race-spec air filter to up the rear wheel output, and bolt on a WP Suspension rear shock to run with WP modified front forks, and the end result is a bike even the Germans can have fun with. Mercedes-Benz F800 Style Concept is showing the future of premium automobiles from a new perspective, as the five-seat premium sedan combines highly efficient drive technologies with unparalleled safety and convenience features and an emotive design idiom, which interprets current Mercedes-Benz styling in line with the brand's hallmark attribute of refined performance. The F800 Style has a spacious interior full of intelligent seating, operating, and display concepts. AltRider Skid Plate for the BMW F 800 GS - Install
Protect your BMW F 800 GS with the AltRider skid plate, and you'll be ready for whatever on or offroad adventures you undertake. Review this installation video to learn how easy it is to install the AltRider plate. Curious about the specs? Made of 3/16 inch (4.75 mm) anodized aluminum, the skid plate offers coverage to the oil filter, heat exchanger and header pipe. It closely conforms to the underside of your bike for protection that doesn't sacrifice ground clearance. This design incorporates four flanges into its shape, creating a robust piece that deflects dangerous debris from your bike. It attaches with OEM fasteners that are completely protected, eliminating the possibility of snags. A 3/16 inch (4.75 mm) stainless steel bracket is also included for mounting, and it maintains the BMW rubber mount for ensured motor safety. The bracket stabilizes the skid plate, minimizing the possibility of shearing the vibration isolation mounts while still allowing them to provide direct impact protection via the rubber mounts. AltRider Hards Parts for the BMW F 800 GS - Product Detail
In this video, AltRider's lead industrial designer Don Hogan shows you the hard parts you need to keep your BMW F 800 GS safe on and off road. He also explains what makes AltRider parts different than others currently available. The AltRider headlight guard, available with a Lexan or a stainless steel face, uses quarter turn Dzus fasteners for a quick release solution that allows you to clean the lens and headlight on the go. The radiator guard not only takes advantage of the lower middle mounting point -- the only guard to do so -- but also incorporates high-temperature silicone bumpers to protect the radiator in case of impact. The voltage regulator guard mounts flush with stainless steel fasteners, and directs air toward the heat sink so it can perform more efficiently. The crash bars are one inch stainless steel, and made with 3D laser copes for a precision fit. The pressed fit flanges are hand TIG welded for strength, and stand offs are used to integrate the crash bar system into the bike's frame. The hidden billet aluminum connector allows impact energy to be transferred throughout the system if the bike goes down. The AltRider skid plate is 3/16 thick anodized aluminum -- the only skid plate that thick currently available. It also utilizes a unique corrugated plate design, which increases strength and rigidity without adding excess weight.
