Friday 11/27/09, while riding on GA HWY 197, I made a few very bad errors. This video starts with a badly blown curve which then leads to some very ugly moments on the side of the road. The end result was a sprained ancle and some sore muscles. The bike suffered only superficial cosmetic damage. I was extremely lucky.
My friend (on the Valkyrie) and I (on the FJR) had a fun day at the drag strip. I finally broke into the 10's and my friend finally exceeded a 100mph trap speed. If it was to be victorious this year, it would be a real upset, as our Tuning Fork test bikes, which included the ABS-equipped standard and auto-shifting AE version, were 2007 models - the only '07s in our testing cadre. Approaching the darkened mountains of Big Sur, we charged through the dark for our Monterey hotel beds in the refined comfort and immediate confidence radiating from the Yamaha. Whereas most bikes headline with the motor, the highlight of the FJR, by far, is its stellar handling. Headed up Hwy 2, the Givi trunk fell off near Baring, WA after the FJR hit a rather bumpy expansion joint for the bridge deck. This 400 mile loop started in Monroe, WA. East on Hwy 2 to Cashmere. Hwy 97 south to Ellensburg then to Naches on Canyon Road. Then West on Hwy 12 to White Pass. The remaining leg was northbound on Hwy 410 by Mt. Rainier and a variety of roads back up toward Monroe.

I bought a 2006 edition of Yamaha FJR1300 with Remus 'Revolution' exhaust system on 18 March 2011. It is a Sport-tourer motorcycle with hunger for speed combined with its far-ranging versatility. It has an electrically adjustable windscreen and unified ABS Braking System.
