The Thames Estuary Army Forts were constructed in 1942 to a design by Guy Maunsell, following the successful construction and deployment of the Naval Sea Forts. Their purpose was to provide anti-aircraft fire within the Thames Estuary area. Each fort consisted of a group of seven towers with a walkway connecting them all to the central control tower. The fort, when viewed as a whole, comprised one Bofors tower, a control tower, four gun towers and a searchlight tower. They were arranged in a very specific way, with the control tower at the centre, the Bofors and gun towers arranged in a semi-circular fashion around it and the searchlight tower positioned further away, but still linked directly to the control tower via a walkway. All the forts followed this plan and, in order of grounding, were called the Nore Army Fort, the Red Sands Army Fort and finally the Shivering Sands Army Fort. All three forts were in place by late 1943, but Nore is no longer standing. Construction of the towers was relatively quick, and they were easily floated out to sea and grounded in water no more than 30m (100ft) deep.

Fort Erie was the first British fort to be constructed as part of a network developed after the Seven Years' War (or in the United States the French and Indian War) was concluded by the Treaty of Paris (1763) at which time all of New France had been ceded to Great Britain. The British established control by occupying the French forts and by constructing a line of communications along the Niagara River and Upper Great Lakes. Built in the 1860's, Cliffe Fort is one of the three Thames Side Forts that were designed to defend that Thames Estuary. It was also built to work in conjunction with Coalhouse Fort in Essex to prevent a hostile fleet reaching London via the Thames. Construction of the fort was difficult due to the marshy ground that the fort is built on; cracking and subsidence caused many problems for the men working on the fort. More surprisingly, this marshy ground was also home to malaria mosquitoes, which made life even more difficult for the construction workers. The fort was designed solely to cater for the armament of the day and the guns that were installed on Cliffe Fort were 12.5" and 11" RML's, weighing around 35 tons. Protection of these guns was provided by granite faced casemates with shields for added defence. These shields, casemates and the rails on which the gun carriages stood are all still visible today. In 1885, Cliffe Fort became the site for an experimental harbour defence system known as the "Brennan Torpedo". This was the world's first wire guided missile. Originally there were two sets of launching rails, but only one remains today. As progressive as this system was at the time, it was replaced 25 years later in favour of quick-firing (QF) guns. Cliffe Fort remained armed throughout both World Wars, but was sold after the end of the Second World War to a local cement company. As a result of this, the fort has sadly been neglected and has fallen into a fairly <b>...</b>

Jodhpur is a hot and bustling trading town located on the fringe of the Great Thar Desert. It has been an important trading town for centuries and is a center for incense and spices. It became rich and powerful from the sale of opium and sandalwood as well as controlling a vital route on the subcontinent. Maharajas poured their wealth into art and architecture and built one of the mightiest forts in the world, Mehrangarh Fort. Originally built in 1459, it completely dominates the city below. Scaling the walls is not an option as they are hundreds of feet tall and unbelievably thick. Inside the fort is a series of courtyards, arcades, and palace apartments. The Raj and Mugal architecture is incredibly opulent. The rooms where the Maharaja would give an audience are richly decorated and have posh floor pillows, silver lined fans and umbrellas. Women were excluded from any meetings or official gatherings but had secrete balconies and screened walls from which they could spy on the proceedings.

TURN UP THE VOLUME, this one's kind of quiet. This collection of forts and furnished houses came out better than I imagined it would, most likely because of heavy editing work. It's not nearly as long or, in my opinion, as good as the others, but it quickly displays some really excellent examples of prop construction and posing by different builders other than myself.
