The FHC's Original FW 190 A-5

On Luftwaffe day 8/6/2011, the FHC flew their FW 190 and ME 109 warbirds. This is my video of the 190 flying solo. In my opinion, the original WWII BMW 801 on this plane is the best and most beastly sounding radial engine I have ever heard.

Information from researchers involved with the restoration confirms that the pilot of the Fw190, Paul Rätz, was a POW and repatriated to Germany in 1949. He passed away in 1989 and his son aided in the research for the restoration. Paul Rätz was a ground crew member before becoming a pilot with 1./JG54 in 1942 and 1943. He had several air victories and survived three crash landings. He was best known as a ground attack pilot and transferred to to 4./JG54 on July 9, 1943. Ten days later on July 19 he crashed with this plane during a mission to attack a train. FW190 Werk Nummer 173056 First Flight

After ten and a half years of restoration, Fw190A-8, werk nummer 173056, took to the air on Sunday 2011, October 9, for the first time in 68 years since wrecked in a French rail yard during the late years of WWII. Owned by Don and Linda Hansen's engineering company of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and flown by test pilot Klaus Plasa from Munich, Germany, two flights were made that day, the first a short flight to test flight characteristics and systems, and a second flight to include maneuvers and stalls shown in this video. Additional test flights will be made to expand the flight envelope of the aircraft and to check systems reliability.

Focke-Wulf FW 190 WWII Fighter Startup. BIG Backfire, Yow!

This is an engine startup of Rudy Frasca's new-build Flug Werk-built Focke-Wulf FW 190 at the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, California. A very impressive replica of the WWII FW-190, this aircraft was built in Germany and was assembled by Matt Nightingale in California with quite a few innovative features (ie newly designed oil coolers, for one). There are several other of these aircraft flying today by lucky owners. Quite an impressive aircraft, just beautifully built and it includes a number of original WWII Focke-Wulf components. And it sounds great too! This aircraft is flown quite often and it is currently intended for it to be shown at the Planes of Fame's annual airshow, Oshkosh and the Reno Air Races in 2011. Nice!

FW 190 and Bf 109 at Paine Field Aug 6 2011

For the first time since the end of hostilities in 1945, a Bf 109 and a FW 190 have flown together. Not in the war-torn skies over Europe but in the clouded aerodrome over Paine Field in Everett, Wash. Paul Allen's faithfully restored warbirds were a real treat for the small crowd outside the Flying Heritage Museum. Here is a condensed compilation of some of the footage I shot during the exhibition that was almost an hour exactly from engine run-up to shut down. Enjoy.

First Engine Start FW190

FW190A-8 Werknummer 173056 quickly roared to life Sept. 21, 2009 after 8 1/2 years of restoration work on the four major components of 173056: Tail, fuselage, wings and engine. Located at the Baton Rouge Metro Airport at PAI Aero, this restoration is a project of Don and Linda Hansens engineering company. The engine was started but shut down quickly as a precaution due to lack of oil pressure indication - found later to be an incorrect pressure sender. Major Frank Hohmann from Flug-Werk in Gammelsdorf, Germany worked intently for most of September, as did Don Hansen and crew Rusty Gautreaux, Danny Trogé and Stephen Hansen to complete engine rigging. This de-preservation/pre-oiling run was a smoky success, with the 2000HP Ash82T engine starting instantly on the first try after 30 years in storage. The first flight is planned for Summer, 2010.

The Focke-Wulf 190 was the work of a team of German designers headed by the famous Kurt Tank. It was evolved basically as a successor to the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter, although the official view was that it would never be capable of matching the operational prowess of the Bf 109. How wrong this proved! Chief company designer Kurt Tank's Wurger (Butcher Bird) was Germanys most potent piston-powered World War II fighter When the Fw 190A entered combat in the summer of 1941. The Ta 152 was a development of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 aircraft, but the prefix was changed from "Fw" to "Ta" to recognize the contributions of Kurt Tank who headed the design team. The number 152 was chosen in the German air ministry's list of numbers allocated to German aircraft companies, and was not related to the designer's previous projects or achievements. The Ta 152H-1, with the Jumo 213 E engine, was among the fastest piston-engined fighters of the war, capable of speeds up to 755 km/h (472 mph) at 13500 m (41000 ft, using the GM-1 boost) and 560 km/h (350 mph) at sea level . To help it attain this speed, it used the MW 50 system mainly for lower altitudes (up to about 32800 ft) and the GM-1 system for higher altitudes, although both systems could be engaged at the same time. The Ta 152 was one of the first aircraft specifically designed to employ a nitrous oxide power boost system. seofollow.net 911taboo -turn into the man u always hated seofollow.net facebook.com Discombobulated! spiney.me.uk ┌(;`~,)┐ http WQ2RX - music drugs sex (☞゚ヮ゚)☞ or ☜(゚ヮ゚☜) www.facebook.com LIVING ROUGH TO ROUGHLY LIVING o/ o_ o/ o_ www.facebook.com WQ2** ALL Y/OUR TAGS & XOX belong to me www.facebook.com ♪┏(・o・)┛♪┗ ( ・o・) ┓♪┏ ( ) ┛♪┗ (・o・ ) ┓♪┏(・o・)┛♪ www.facebook.com I have VS uUu have ~***)(y/our virtually fuck-buddy dayz/daze/dais www <b>...</b>

Here's the flight test of the Hobbico FW-190. Not only this is an amazing looking model, it flies very well too. The retractable landing gear works very well and I experienced no issues flying off of our grass strip over a couple of days. The flaps are effective, but not overly so. There is enough power for some very scale WWII warbird action - and then some! Overall, I am very happy with this model!

Although it had a radial engine, the German Focke-Wulf Fw-109 was one of the most beautifully proportioned fighters of World War 2. The pride of Marshall Goering, the 190 maintained superiority over the British Spitfire 5 for almost two years because it could out fly its opponent on nearly every count. Approximately 20, 000 Focke-Wulf's were produced and, in various versions, were used as day and night fighters, fighter-bombers and in ground attack roles. One feature of the 190 was its wide track under carriage, which gave it, improved ground stability over the BF-109's. Wing Span: 16½" Scale: 1/32

FW 190 - the Focke Wulf butcher bird

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Würger, was a German single-seat, single-engine fighter aircraft designed by Kurt Tank in the late 1930s. It was used by the Luftwaffe during the Second World War. The design was the last mass produced piston-engine German fighter to see action in the war. It partially replaced the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in 1941. By 1945, the Fw 190 operated effectively on all fronts. Production ran from 1941 to the end of hostilities, during which time the aircraft was continually updated with over 20000 built. Its later versions retained qualitative parity with Allied fighter aircraft. The Fw 190 was well-liked by its pilots, and was quickly proven to be superior in all but turn radius to the Royal Air Force's main front-line fighter

FW190 Spifire startup. Take off inbound Prague, 4 june 2010.

- Start up of these two warbird from Dijon /Darois and then flown by LEON MARC MATHIS & ROBERT FAIX , inbound PRAGUE Czech Republic airshow. - The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Würger was a German single-seat, single-radial engine fighter aircraft designed by Kurt Tank in the late 1930s. It was used by the Luftwaffe during the Second World War in a variety of roles. Like the Bf 109, the Fw 190 was employed as a "workhorse", and proved suitable for a wide variety of roles, including air superiority fighter, strike fighter, ground-attack aircraft, escort fighter, and operated with less success as a night fighter. Early 190s performance decreased at high altitudes (usually 6000 m (20000 ft) and above) which complicated its use as a high-altitude interceptor, but these complications were mostly rectified in later models, notably the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D variant in the autumn of 1944. In spite of its successes, it never entirely replaced the Messerschmitt Bf 109. When it was first introduced in 1941 it was quickly proven to be superior in all but turn radius to the Royal Air Force's main front-line fighter, the Spitfire Mk. V variant.[1][2] The 190 wrested air superiority away from the RAF until the introduction of the vastly improved Spitfire Mk. IX in the autumn 1942 restored qualitative parity.[3] Improvements to the 190 were met by similar improvements in its opponents throughout the middle of the war, allowing the 190 to maintain relative parity with its Allied counterparts until the <b>...</b>

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Würger (Shrike) was a German Second World War single-seat, single-engine fighter aircraft designed by Kurt Tank in the late 1930s. Powered by a radial engine, the 190 had ample power and was able to lift larger loads than its well-known counterpart, the Messerschmitt Bf 109. The 190 was used by the Luftwaffe in a wide variety of roles, including day fighter, fighter-bomber, ground-attack aircraft and, to a lesser degree, night fighter. When the Fw 190 started flying operationally over France in August 1941, it quickly proved itself to be superior in all but turn radius to the Royal Air Force's main front-line fighter, the Spitfire Mk. Though Soviet pilots considered the Bf 109 the greater threat, the Fw 190 made a significant impact. The fighter and its pilots proved just as capable as the Bf 109 in aerial combat, and in the opinion of German pilots who flew both, provided increased firepower and manoeuvrability at low to medium altitude. The Fw 190 became the backbone of the Jagdwaffe (Fighter Force), along with the Bf 109. On the Eastern Front, the Fw 190 was <b>...</b>

Fw 190 Historical overview

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Würger ("shrike"), also called Butcher-bird, was a single-seat, single-engine fighter aircraft of Germany's Luftwaffe, and one of the best fighters of its generation. Used extensively during the Second World War, over 20000 were manufactured, including around 6000 fighter-bomber models. Production ran from 1941 to the end of hostilities, during which time the aircraft was continually updated. Its later versions retained qualitative parity with Allied fighter planes, but Germany was not able to produce the aircraft in enough numbers to affect the outcome of the war. The Fw 190 was well liked by its pilots, and was quickly proven to be superior to the RAF's main front line fighter, the Spitfire Mk. V, on its combat debut in 1941. Compared to the Bf 109, the Fw 190 was a "workhorse", employed in and proved suitable for a wide variety of roles, including ground attack, night fighter-bomber, long-range bomber escort, night-fighter and high-altitude interceptor.

FW190 Ace Walter "Graf" Krupinski Interview

From Jane's WWII Fighters Walter Krupinski, known to his comrades as "Graf" ("Count"), first saw combat against the RAF on the Western Front. Transferring to the east, his victories soon started to mount and in October 1942, he became a commander in the legendary Jagdgeschwader 52 (JG 52) wing. A year later his victories reached 150. He was one of JG 52's elite fighter pilots, becoming Staffelkapitan of 7. Staffel in the spring of 1943. In March 1944, with 177 victories to his name, he returned to Germany to take command of II./JG 11. Flying high altitude Bf 109s, he chalked up another 12 victories before being wounded. From September 1944 to March 1945 he led III./JG 26, during which his unit participated in the Ardennes Offensive. Krupinski is one of the few living aces to have flown the long-nosed Fw190D in combat. He finished the war flying with Adolf Galland's famous Jagdverband 44 (JV 44), a squadron of experts flying the revolutionary Me 262 jet fighter. He was one of the most successful pilots flying on both the Russian and Western Fronts. By the end of his career, he was credited with 197 aerial victories and held the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves. He was also an exceptional leader who taught many young fighter pilots their trade, including Erich Hartmann. In 1100 missions, he never lost a wingman.
