My apologies in advance if you were looking for something classical... but this little song by Bent Fabricius-Bjerre is a classic in it's own way! The autumn air with all the ragweed rendered me silly, so it might show in my music. Oh well, one has to have fun sometimes. Here is my rendition of Alley Cat, for reed organ. :) Although you cannot see it, this reed organ is foot pumped. This type of music does not take much pumping as the notes are short and quick, it is very easy to over pump. The couplers are activated by the grand organ knee swell.

www.MartinFabricius.eu Walking home from a jam session at Berklee with a couple Latin American guys whom spoke nothing but spanish, the heavy snow was a huge contrast to the humid tropical climate we had build up in the rehearsal room. Having cooled down from the walk home, the contrast was shifted once again when I sat down to write this song and noticed, for the first time, that the trees outside being covered with heavy white snowflakes were actually Carob tree's - which, till then, I'd only seen in Mediterranean countries... This recording is from our show at Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2009 in Literaturhaus. Besides Tomas Trulsson, who was our featured artist, on sax, it's the usual trio playing Christian Hougaard Nielsen on bass, Jeppe Wessberg Christensen on drums and my selve on vibes. www.MartinFabricius.eu I started writing Song Returned in January 2010. The handwritten sketch was sitting on my piano as a work in progress when our apartment building caught fire. Almost a year went by living in an hotel apartment while all our personal belongings where being cleaned and later stored in boxes. When we finally moved back and got all our old stuff back Song Returned was labeled "Unable to restore". In spite of the smoke damage the music was still legible so I could finally complete the song. Living without your things for a year you realize that it's the small things you miss the most. Your coffee maker, your favorite kitchen knife your guitar or a song you where working on.
