This is the alternate fan sequence I made for the DVD version of the Gremlins 2 "film break" scene. I made it alone, in a two months period, with (computer-enhanced) puppets I re-created for this project. WATCH THE MAKING OF ON YOUTUBE !!! ————————————————— MORE INFO: WHAT IS IT? In the middle of the movie Gremlins 2, there is a sequence where the film seems to break, and where the gremlins invade the projection booth. For the VHS edition in the early 90's, they reshot a special sequence where the VHS tape seemed to be torn apart and in which the gremlins invaded a John Wayne movie. The DVD just kept the original theatrical version. This is the alternate sequence I made, supposed to replace the theatrical one on the DVD. HOW IS IT MADE? The creatures effects are all made with puppets. I made a new mold out of a hard cast of one of the original sculptures from the production. I created a batch of new foam puppets especially for this project. Their performances are enhanced by computer effects, which makes them able to do nearly anything, from running to jumping or facial expressions. The entire shooting takes place in a bluescreen studio, arranged in my basement, in order to superimpose the gremlins in the chosen movies. WHO AM I ? Taking place after the events of Gears of War 2, the film follows Sigma Squad of the COG as they retreat to shelter within a stranded camp. This project would never have happened without the help and contributions from those who participated on our Kickstarter, as well as the rest of the fans within the Gears of War community and Epic Games themselves. The creature was created as a haunted theme park character last Halloween season and I am carrying it over into film. Out of pocket, I spent roughly $2000 on the whole thing, most of that went to creating costumes, paying for train fare, and buying food for my actors. I assembled most of the costumes myself, but also networked with GI Joe cosplayers for some of the characters. Via the internet, I also networked and recruited stunt people from M Night Shyamalan Last Airbender movie, the fight choreographer from Machine Girl, and other filmmaking enthusiasts from NYU FIlm school and elsewhere in the NY/NJ area. Why did I make this film? I thought Rise of Cobra was great for cinematically introducing the franchise to a new generation of kids. Seeing my 9 year old neighbor talk enthusiastically about Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow is a great thing to see. But for myself - and for what I've come to realize is a legion of older fans who grew up with the characters - I wanted to see a GI Joe tailored to me. To me, the show's always been about what it takes to be a hero, and how a team of heroes "never give up and stay 'till the fight's won". Naruto Shippuden: Dreamers Fight Hey guys, This is the new fan tribute my team and I have chosen to do next. Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto Series (Manga & Anime) has heavily inspired many of us so we thought it would be cool to try and translate a fight to a live action format. The short is being shot on the Canon EOS 7D and the budget is around $1000-$1200 **I saved up a little more for this one :) The run time should be around 20 minutes. You could say it acts as a live action filler. The battle will be between The Leaf's Naruto Uzamaki & Rock Lee and is set to release sometime in November. In the end, this piece will be strictly for Naruto fans though. I didn't have much interest in adapting this and changing it around for audiences who aren't too familiar (But hopefully they'll still like it as well!! hah).
