I Go to College for the Financial Aid (Original Song)

I got some Student financial aid refers to funding intended to help students pay educational expenses including tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, etc. for education at a college, university, or private school. General governmental funding for public education is not called financial aid, which refers to awards to specific individual students. Certain governments, eg Nordic countries, provide student benefit. A scholarship is sometimes used as a synonym for a financial aid award, although grants and student loans are also components of financial aid packages from students' intended colleges.

I Go to College for the Financial Aid

THE LYRICS - SING ALONG! I go to college... but not for the education - the government pays my tuition. God bless this nation. Heads turn when I walk in the room cause I'm so classy, I sweat perfume. Yea I'd prefer cologne, but... whatever. I wear so much ice when I go for a walk once I fell in some lava, it just turned into rock. I got a lotta money, I spend it at the store. I purchase so frequent my wallet gets sore - Stretch it out. Stretch it out next time. I got so much dough I buy shit I don't want, hell - even when Im full, I'll buy a croissant with a combo meal make it super-sized, 'cause my student loans is all subsidized. Why not? I go to college for the financial aid direct deposit's how I like to be paid I got credit some cards, but im still pretty thrifty. I pay that shit off, my credit score's 850. I go to college for the financial aid I get so much money my bank's afraid, and just when they think the cash flow has ended, hah, no, I get a scholarship for being left handed. I get the perkins loans, fo' grand a term, you wanna borrow some money? Click yes to confirm. Confirm are you kidding? Click Click DOUBLECLICK, quick put it in my pocket make my wallet get thick! That's what I'm talkin about. But my conscience tells me, when you pay loans back that money comes out your pants. Did you get any grants? Did vin diesel breakdance? Financial Aid for College.mp4

www.CutYourCollegeCosts.com Do you want financial aid for college? This video deals with the FAFSA question that reads "in addition to grants, are you interested in being considered for work-study or student loans?" You need to file your FAFSA correctly to get all the grants, scholarships, work-study and student loans you're eligible for. Here's the answer options: You can chose work-study, which is aid earned thru working You can chose student loans, which you're gonna pay back You can chose both work-study and student loans You can chose neither and you can chose "don't know" So what's the best choice? Well, I suggest you chose "both work-study and student loans". By choosing "both" you will be offered the maximum amount of financial aid for college, and you can always go back and decline any portion of your Financial Aid award. For instance grants, scholarships, free money -- hey, we'll take all that. Work-study? Well, little Johnny's job is to be a good college student, so thank you very much, but we're going to decline the work-study. And keep in mind there's two types of Stafford student loans. One is subsidized and the other's unsubsidized. With the subsidized loan, Uncle Sam will cover the interest while you're in school. So in essence, free money while you're in college. With the unsubsidized loan, the interest will accrue while you're in school but you don't have to make a payment until after you've left. And finally, any unmet need after the colleges offer you ...

Financial Aid and Paying for College

The cost of college is both a political issue highlighted in President Obama's State of the Union address, and a personal issue for students and their families seeking to balance debt and educational opportunity. In a live, interactive "Office Hours" webcast Thursday, Feb. 2, Duke's director of financial aid, Alison Rabil, answers viewer questions about paying for college. Duke admissions officer Valerie Schwartz moderates the conversation. Rabil has worked in university financial aid for more than 20 years. She was in charge of financial aid at Barnard College in New York before taking her current position at Duke in 2008. "I did not grow up thinking, 'I want to work in financial aid,'" Rabil says, "but I have found that it is a good place for me and what I like to do. I am passionate about access to education."My mission is to be fair, accessible, open-minded and as generous as possible given the parameters within which I must work," she says. "I see myself as an advocate and a voice for those who cannot afford the full cost at Duke." Duke's Financial Aid website explains the financial aid process in a video, text instructions and an animated presentation. The site also has a link to a financial aid calculator and answers to frequently asked questions. Duke's "Office Hours" webcast series allows members of the Duke community and others to engage in live conversations with faculty about their research and scholarship.
