The Northrop Grumman-built US Navy X-47B Unmanned Combat Air System Demonstration (UCAS-D) aircraft successfully completed its first flight at Edwards Air Force Base, California. Taking off under hazy skies, the X-47B climbed to an altitude of 5000 feet, flew several racetrack-type patterns, and landed safely at 2:38 pm PST, February 4th 2011. The flight provided test data to verify and validate system software for guidance and navigation, and the aerodynamic control of the tailless design.

Today Simon Cowell announced LA Reid will be one of the judges on the singing competition show. LA is a three-time Grammy award-winning CEO of Def Jam who's signed acts like Mariah Carey, P!nk, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Kanye West. While many music blog sites are already confirming the news, a source close to the deal tells EW's Music Mix that Reid has yet to sign on the dotted line. The source says quote, "He has his sights set on a seat on that panel, and apparently Simon would like it to happen." The hiring of LA seems to be the answer to Idol's partnership with Jimmy Iovine on the show this year, who is the chairmen of Intrerscope-Geffen. Leave it to Simon to go big! He definitely knows what he's doing, and this makes us even more excited to see who else will fill those coveted judges' seats. (Paula, Paula, Paula!) Anyhoo, in related news, auditions for X Factor kick off March 27 in New York, and then travel to several other major cities around the country. The winner takes home a $5 million recording contract. The first preview of the US X Factor is out and Simon Cowell is showing that he has a sense of humor about his American Idol past by mimicking his old show's signature style. The preview starts off with a dream sequence where Simon is back behind the judges table with Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and LA Reid. All of them have sodas in front of them like they do on Idol, and the contestants are seen bursting through the audition doors. You almost expect to see Ryan Seacrest waiting for them. Then to cap it all off, Simon drives away in what looks like a car commercial. It's clear they got their inspiration from Idol. The only thing out of place with the Idol parody is the inclusion of a nice Simon, but all that ends when Mr. Cowell wakes up. The video makes it clear that the old Simon — and all his unfiltered honesty — is back in a big way. After two years apart, Idol's two ex judges Simon and Paula get quite cozy in the promo, but it's not the first time we've seen them kiss. The two locked lips in a skit for season two of Idol, during auditions, and when they reunited for X Factor in May. Simon and Paula have interesting chemistry. Here is a video of me unboxing my IBM ThinkPad X20 that I got from eBay for $20 dollars bidding $10 and the shipping being $10. This laptop is the first X-series laptop that IBM made. It is missing the HDD, caddy and cover, but I will invest in getting those things, and a 20gb hard drive. I will also upgrade the ram to the maximum. It can run up to 320mb of ram. It has 64mb built in. So I will invest in a 256mb ram stick which is only 10$. This laptop doesn't have a CD Drive, but it has 2 usb ports, and a compact flashcard reader. I will get a wireless card for this as well. When I get the 20gb hard drive I will load Windows XP using a USB CD Drive which I will also invest in getting since this unit does not have an internal CD drive. This is one of the best built laptops I've ever seen. It is very small and light. Great for school and internet browsing!
