Opens in NYC and LA in October When Fishbone first emerged from California, no other band sounded or looked like them, and the weight of their innovative and iconic presence is still being felt decades later. Coinciding with the group's 25th anniversary, filmmakers Lev Anderson & Chris Metzler have directed a compelling new documentary, narrated by Laurence Fishburne. Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone is both a fascinating and brutally honest look at the band's history for longtime fans, as well as a perfect entry point for newcomers. Pale Griot Films is proud to present the US Theatrical release of Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone in New York and Los Angeles this October. The film had its World Premiere at the 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival, and went on to screen at the SXSW Film & Music festival, among many others. Everyday Sunshine will open on October 7th at the ReRun Theater in Brooklyn, NY, and on October 21st at the Laemmle Sunset 5 in Los Angeles, CA. This was a "Pay-Per-View" event ($19.99) for a Cable TV series called "Thursday Night Concerts" TNC subsequently drop the price of their PPV's to $9.99, but within months failed to capture an audience and disappeared. Fishbone's "Bonin' in the Boneyard" on bass - LRRG
I originally did not want to do this tune...too hard. However, my wife requested this tune a few times, and naturally (because I am a properly domesticated male), I obliged her. This tune is insane...that is all I have to say. What I play is simply an approximation because there is an impossible array interesting stuff going on in the tune that I do not even want to touch. The solo in the middle is improvised, obviously. I'm sure some REAL rock god will come along and play it how it is written, but for now, enjoy my suffering. (yes, I know its slightly out of frame, but I didn't want to have to do this twice.)
