This is a series of gameplay vids I'm doing highlighting overlooked games for the PS2. Sky Odyssey is one of those games that people either love or hate. It got it's fair share of mixed reviews, because it's not an action packed game. In sky Odyssey, you fly your plane through courses and not into dog fights. It's a flying game, and not a combat oriented game. It will probably bore the piss out of action gamers. However, those who don't mind a nonviolent game will find an enjoyable experience. It's more Pilot Wings than Ace combat. It also has multiple modes of play. This vid shows the Adventure mode (where I have an epic fail), and the target mode. But there's also training, free flight, and sky canvas mode (where you draw pictures with smoke). The controls take a little getting used to. I'll admit that I'm pretty new to this game, and I have some obvious troubles with the controls still. I'm just trying to show off the gameplay here, and not my skills. Graphically, this game was almost a launch game, so it's not impressive to look at, but as usualy, I don't play games for their looks. Overall, the game may be short on action, but it's gameplay is engrossing enough to keep those who get into it hooked. If you don't mind a game that goes against the grain a little, then check out Sky Odyssey. Sky Odyssey is only available on the PS2. Note: I forgot about the Acrobatic points when capturing the footage, so sorry if I make the game look badly to veterans of the game.
