Tonadilla llamase El Palomo, del pueblo de Lambayeque para cantar y baylar (Autor Anónimo Peruano) del Tomo II, fol. 185 del Códice Martínez Compañón (Trujillo, Peru, 1783-1785). El 10 de enero del año 1738 nació en Villa Cabredo, Navarra, Baltasar Jaime Martínez Compañón y Bujanda. Estudió leyes y filosofía, ordenándose sacerdote en 1761 cuando sólo tenía 23 años de edad. Siendo canónigo en Santo Domingo de la Calzada y habiendo recibido formación musical, presentó una solicitud al rey a fin de lograr el nombramiento de chantre en la Catedral de Lima, Perú. Concedido esto, se embarcó en Cádiz el día 4 de octubre de 1767, llegando a Lima y haciéndose cargo de su puesto el 17 de julio de 1768. Allí, fue nombrado Juez de Diezmos en 1769, luego llegó a ser director del Seminario Conciliar en 1770 y en 1772 fue elegido como secretario del Concilio de Lima. El 25 de febrero de 1778 fue nombrado como obispo de Trujillo por el Papa Pío VI, consagrándose como tal el día 13 de mayo de 1779 en la antigua iglesia de los expulsados jesuítas, ya que la Catedral de Trujillo se encontraba clausurada por entonces. Opium contains up to 12% morphine, an alkaloid, which is frequently processed chemically to produce heroin for the illegal drug trade. The latex also includes codeine and non-narcotic alkaloids such as papaverine, thebaine and noscapine. The traditional method of obtaining the latex is to scratch ("score") the immature seed pods (fruits) by hand; the latex leaks out and dries to a sticky yellowish residue that is later scraped off the fruit. The modern method is to harvest and process mature plants by machine. "Meconium" historically referred to related, weaker preparations made from other parts of the poppy or different species of poppies. The production of opium itself has basically not changed since ancient times. However, through selective breeding of the Papaver somniferum plant, the content of the phenanthrene alkaloids morphine, codeine, and to a lesser extent thebaine, has been greatly increased. In modern times, much of the thebaine, which often serves as the raw material for the synthesis for hydrocodone, hydromorphone, and other semi-synthetic opiates, originates from extracting Papaver orientale or Papaver bracteatum. Opium for illegal use is often converted into heroin, which is less bulky, making it easier to smuggle, and which multiplies its potency to approximately twice that of morphine. The film stars Steve Reeves as the titular hero and Sylva Koscina as his love interest Princess Iole. Hercules was directed by Pietro Francisci and produced by Federico Teti. The film spawned a sequel, Hercules Unchained (Italian: Ercole e la Regina di Lidia), that also starred Reeves and Koscina. Hercules made Reeves an international film star and effectively paved the way for the dozens of 1960s sword and sandal flicks featuring oily bodybuilders as mythological heroes and gladiators battling monsters, despots, and evil queens. Hercules has been broadcast on American television, is in the public domain, and is available in both VHS and DVD formats. In 1993 the film was lampooned on Mystery Science Theater 3000. The film's Italian title means "The Labors of Hercules". The film's screenplay is loosely based upon the myths of Hercules and the Greek epic poem Argonautica by Apollonius of Rhodes. In both myths and epic poem, Hercules' role in the Quest for the Golden Fleece is marginal; he abandons the expedition early-on when Hylas, his armor-bearer and eromenos (Greek: ἐρώμενος), is lost on an island while searching for water.
