The 2011 Subaru Forester, as reviewed by our host Emme Hall, retains much of 2010's model's simplistic looks and drivetrain, save a few key differences. For 2011, the Forester has an upgraded engine that boosts key areas in horsepower, torque, and gas mileage. The new engine is a 2.5 liter 4-banger that gets 170 horsepower and 174 pound feet of torque, making gas mileage 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. You can also choose to get a different trim with a turbocharged version of this engine, which will produce roughly 50 more horses and pound-feet. And all of these transmissions can come in either manual or automatic. And of course, the Forester without question gets Subaru's infamous all-wheel drive, letting the Forester hit the trails with ease. Handles are smooth and precise thanks to the AWD, and performs with aplomb. Not to mention its awesome 8.7 inches of ground clearance! Inside and out, the Subaru is functional but not stylish. Its form won't turn any heads, but what it lacks in aesthetics it more than makes up in practicality and user-friendliness. The space inside this crossover is roomier than one would expect, and the standard amenities are passable; trip computer, bluetooth & iPod integration, panoramic sunroof. As you ascend the trim levels, amenities start piling up, the more expensive trims feature rearview cameras, portable TomTom navigation screen, and more. All in all, the Forester is a pleasant ride and definitely capable of holding its own <b>...</b>

Review: 2006 Subaru Forester 2.5 XT
Go to MYRIDE.COM for more car videos.More power, revised handling, new features, and updated styling are part of a significant Subaru Forester update for 2006. More power on normally aspirated Foresters comes about because of a new variable valve-lift system. Horsepower for this 2.5-liter flat four is now 173 (up from 165 hp in 2005), and Subaru says real-world drivability has been improved. The turbocharged engine in the 2.5 XT Limited model is also more powerful for 2006; it receives a 20-hp boost for a 230-hp total, and it produces fewer tailpipe emissions. Minor revisions to the manual and automatic transmissions are also part of the 2006 upgrade. Other mechanical changes this year include a slight boost to ground clearance, a retuned suspension (for sharper handling and a smoother ride, says Subaru) and improved brake feel. For the interior of this small crossover SUV, Subaru added a rear fold-down armrest, reshaped the rear seat for additional thigh support, installed a new multi-function center console and put in new tie-downs for the cargo area. The upscale LL Bean Edition trim also has widened water-resistant matting for the cargo area and a new Momo steering wheel. Finishing up the 2006 Subaru Forester alterations is a styling refresh that gives the Forester a less blocky-looking front fascia, new taillights and larger exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals.

It will remove a tree up to 12" in diameter when sharp. The tires are foam filled to avoid flats and fitted with steel tracks for maximum traction and agility. The system is designed with a maximum flow hydraulic pump that delivers 31 GPM to the cutter head. Cab is enclosed in bullet proof glass to protect the operator from debris.
