This was taken back in Feb. 2008 from the 191 Hwy going North through Morenci. What you see in this video is the North West Ramp and the 5150 near Coronado. There aren't near as many trucks as their use to be...due to economy. I drive these trucks along with the 777 & water trucks. There pretty big ;)

Earnings Report: Freeport McMoran Copper & Gold Produces Precious Profit, Provides Guidance
Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold (NYSE:FCX)reported Q2 EPS of $1.40, topping consensus estimates of $1.28. Revenues in the quarter rose 4.9% to $3.86 billion, and came in ahead of consensus estimates of $3.52 billion. Consolidated sales from mines for second-quarter 2010 totaled 914 million pounds of copper, 298 thousand ounces of gold and 16 million pounds of molybdenum, compared with 1.1 billion pounds of copper, 837 thousand ounces of gold and 16 million pounds of molybdenum for second-quarter 2009. Meanwhile, consolidated sales from mines for the year 2010 are expected to approximate 3.8 billion pounds of copper, 1.8 million ounces of gold and 63 million pounds of molybdenum, including 970 million pounds of copper, 410 thousand ounces of gold and 15 million pounds of molybdenum for third-quarter 2010. James R. Moffett, Chairman of the Board, and Richard C. Adkerson, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "Our second-quarter results reflect continued strong production and cost management throughout our global portfolio of mining operations. During the quarter, we executed our operating plans effectively, strengthened our balance sheet and advanced projects to enhance our future growth options. We remain positive about the outlook for our business based on the fundamentals of global supply and demand. Heavy Oversize Load Crossing The Roosevelt Lake Bridge
It was just after 7am. on August 16th, 2011, when this 285 ton anode made it's way over the Roosevelt Lake Bridge on Arizona Highway 188. This anode was on the final leg of it's long slow journey from Salt Lake City to the Freeport-McMoRan copper and gold mine in Miami, Arizona. It was reported that the anode weighed 285 tons and it's tranport rig stretched 225 feet. Proof that this was a heavy load can be seen as the load progresses across the bridge. Watch the concrete walls and the fencing on them and you will see their upward arch flatten out as the load crosses!

285 Tons Going Up...285 Tons Going Down
On August 16th, 2011, Precision Heavy Haul was on their last leg of the movement of a 285 ton anode from where it was built in Salt Lake City, Utah, to it's final destination at the Freeport-McMoRan copper and gold mine in Miami, Arizona. The first scene shows the large unit being pulled / pushed up the 6% grade out of the Tonto Basin, with Roosevelt Lake visible in the distance. The next scene has the heavy load being eased down the 7% grade east of the basin. In the first scene notice how the torque of the lead trucks engine has the drivers side lifted about six inches higher than the passeger side! As you'll see on the downgrade, the bumper is now parallel with the road because the truck is no longer pulling.

Freeport-McMoRan Tops Q4 Estimates, Sets 2011 Mining Targets
Copper and Gold mining company Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE:FCX) reported Q4 EPS of $3.25, topping analyst estimates of $2.88. Revenue in the quarter rose to $5.60 billion, better than the Street estimate of $5.47 billion. The company expected consolidated sales from mines for 2011 to be 3.85 billion pounds of copper, 1.4 million ounces of gold and 70 million pounds of molybdenum. Q1 2011 is expected to deliver 840 million pounds of copper, 325 thousands ounces of gold and 17 million pounds of molybdenum. Freeport currently expects 2011 capex to total $2.5 billion. The company's board of directors declared a $1 per share supplemental dividend (paid on 12/30/10) and a 2 for 1 stock split (effected 2/1/11). Chairman Jim Moffett and President and CEO Richard Adkerson said, "We are pleased to report record quarterly and annual financial results and substantial reserve additions. We look forward to continued strong operating results across our global operations and to the advancement of our attractive development projects as we grow our production and enhance our asset values. Our strong financial position and positive outlook will enable us to invest in economically attractive growth projects while providing strong cash returns to shareholders."

Taking The Anode The Last Mile
Here we see the 285 ton anode running it's last mile of a trip that started in Salt Lake City, UT. In the first scene we see the Precision Heavy Haul team making the turn from Arizona Highway 188 onto the US 60 in Claypool, AZ. I thought this turn was going to be a troublesome one for them, but you could tell this wasn't their first rodeo! Arizona DPS officers blocked off the intersection and within 5 minutes the anode was through and traffic was flowing again. Scene two shows the load entering the Freeport McMoRan mine complex in Miami, AZ. An interesting thing to note, is as the load is climbing the very steep grade at the mine, the driver of the lead truck lifts the rear most and unpowered axle on his rig for more traction on his drive axles. The entire set up was reported to be 225 feet long, with the anode itself weighing 285 tons. This was shot on 8-16-11.
