There was a secret meeting and everything became clear. Ezra was chosen as the lead singer because he had pretty blue eyes and couldn't really sing. The Harpoons are a wild bunch. So wild and free you forgot to laugh. Bassist Job Mukkada is a singer-songwriter in his own right, but staunchly avoids the limelight because of his citrus allergy. When not drumming for the Harpoons, drummer Adam Abrutyn manufactures and sells fast-acting valor syrup which is typically drizzled over the temples and groin area. John Brantley passed for 329 yards and four touchdowns to lead Florida to a 54-32 win over FCS 24th-ranked Furman in football action Saturday afternoon at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Brantley completed 16 of 28 passes, including scoring strikes of 14, 80, 29, and 64 yards, to help Florida (6-5) overcome a 22-7 second quarter deficit. Jerodis Williams rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns to lead Furman (6-5) and become the first Paladin 1000-yard rusher since 2003. Williams, a junior from Prattville, Ala., finished the season with 1055 yards and nine touchdowns. Furman quarterback Chris Forcier passed for 166 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice in the second half, both of which were returned for touchdowns. His first half scoring strike, a 31-yard connection to David Hendrix that staked the Paladins a 15-0 lead, gave him 23 touchdown passes for the season, a new Furman season mark. The man holding more Guinness World Records more than anyone reached the century mark by organizing a poetry reading. Lets have a look. STORY: This time, New Yorker, Ashrita Furman organized a reading of a poem in 111 languages. With this event, Furman now holds 100 Guinness World Records, an achievement no one comes close to matching. More than a hundred people read the poem at City Hall Park in lower Manhattan. The poem was recited in widely spoken languages like English, Dutch and Korean, to less well know languages like Bahkir, Galician, Inuktitut and Telugu. The Wofford College football team was defeated 26-21 by Furman on Saturday afternoon at Paladin Stadium. After the game was tied at seven in the first quarter, the Paladins scored the next two touchdowns to take the lead. Wofford was hampered by eight penalties and two interceptions in the contest. The Terriers are 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in the SoCon. Furman is 4-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play. Wofford was led by Eric Breitenstein with 129 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Max Lerner is a fast hard hitting safety who is smooth in coverage as well. He is the type of player quarterbacks have to look for before every snap as you can catch him deep in coverage or at the line of scrimmage. He is also a former first season star of the hit show Two-A-Days. He went on to have a very successful career as a three year starter for Furman, winning All-Conference twice, and also taking home All-South Carolina as a Sophomore.
