Be happy, I braved single digit wind chills to get these! First is CSX Q190-30 heading down the Wood Connecting Track and onto the Trenton Line with a pair of CSX ES40DC's for power. Q190 - South Philadelphia, PA - North Kearny, NJ intermodel CSX ES40DC 5457 CSX ES40DC 5423 10:52 AM NS 14G heads east on the Morrisville Line and into Morrisville Yard with light power. Apparently they set out their whole train at Abrams Yard. 14G - Conway, PA - Morrisville, PA manifest NS ES40DC 7601 NS SD60 6565 11:52 AM Next, CSX K491-30 Empty Ethanol heads south on the Trenton Line with A CW40-8/SD70AC pair. Today, there was actually a spacer on the back, in the form of a SOO Line hopper car! K491 - Port Reading, NJ - ? Empty Ethanol CSX CW40-8 7837 CSX SD70AC 4568 12:34 PM Now for the train of the day. After letting K491-30 pass, CSX Q410-28 heads east on the Trenton Line with a ES44AC/SD40-2/SD70AC lash-up, plus the pair of FEC GP40-2's and 118 cars. Notice the Epic trash containers six cars back, they were picked up by Q410 because of Q706's reduction to three days a week. Here we are at Union Station, where we get a big surprise on the tail end of New Jersey Transit Train 5449, the Raritan Valley Line local to Raritan. Today's consist is PL42AC 4013 with 6 Comet coaches and GP40PH-2B 4201 bringing up the markers. The only reason this engine was in the consist was because it was being taxied to Raritan Yard so that it could tie on to P40DC 4802 and drag it back to Kearny. I think this was a great catch, because the 4201 was MU'ed with the train, but the HEP CAT engine wasn't on, which gives pure, unadulterated EMD 645 rev when the train departs. Leading the train is a Conrail Quality GP40-2 #4428, now owned by CSXT. WPMI-21 was working in push-pull mode with CSXT GP40-2 #4412 pulling up the hind end of the train. #4428 still retains its Conrail-era Leslie RS3L horn above the cab. On 8-22-2010, the Katy was no longer an independent railroad, but a ward of the Union Pacific. On April 5, 2011, one of the better Tuesday evenings at Woodbourne happened. Odd moves, great lash-ups, and all around fun: 4:43 PM - The weirdest move of all was the first train of the day. CSX B738-05 from Lansdale comes east off the Morrisville Line and onto the Wood Connecting track with a GP40-2 trio of 4408, 6160, and 6153 pulling a long train. A regular freight on the Wood Connecting Track is an extreme rarity. The funny part was with no engines on the west end, the conductor hitched a ride on the back of the train, and B738-05 shoved west into Woodbourne Yard. SEPTA train 6370 also made an eastbound appearance. January 21, 2008: Turn it up! NS GP40-2 3039 leads H47 and NS GP38-2 5662 brings up the rear. That horn is MASSIVE! Absolutely one of my favorites. In comparison, this sounds like the S-5T RRO on the 3430. ENJOY! Also, that evening at Wernersville Station H31 had a NS High Hood GP50 7056 with a great P3 horn leading and NS High Hood GP38-2 5171 pushing. Enjoy!

Back by popular demand is my Soo Line Bandit GP40, 2064. Now in better lighting. This locomotive started life as an Atlas Milwaukee Road GP40. I bought it from a gentelmen off of ebay for only $185.00. It had a decoder all ready installed that I had removed to put sound in. He also had all and I mean all the necessary details all ready installed includeing lift rings, correct horn and bell placement, and working ditch lights. Tom at South Side Trains did the Tsunami decoder install.

This is an Atlas HO scale GP40-2. I detailed, custom painted, added decals, and weathered this loco. This is a CSX Ex-B&O Chessie System GP40-2 numbered CSXT 6116. I put in a Digitrax SFX064D sound decoder. I used a Digitrax DH163D decoder for the motor. I made custom sounds for this engine. All sounds are real locomotives sounds recorded from different CSX locomotives to make this project what it is. I wish the audio and video quality was better in this video. The camera I used is an underwater video camera that I use for my fishing videos. It's really not made for shooting model trains. But it's the only camera I own. I hope to get a better camera in the future. **Please Watch in HD** Conrail Shared Assets train WPCA-51 heads south on the Beesley Point Secondary through Audubon, NJ after a snowfall brought about six inches of snow to the Southern NJ area. Leading the train is the LAST remaining Conrail painted GP40-2 locomotive on the CSXT active roster. CSXT #4428 remains in Conrail Quality paint, with the marker lights also remaining. Additionally, the Leslie RS3L remains mounted above the cab and has yet to be replaced and moved like most CSX units. As the title says, two CSX GP40-2's (4436 and 6393) are hard at work switching cars together this evening. Both units are running. So THIS is what a Centennial unit (DDA40X) must sound like! Amazing! You really need a good speaker system and/or subwoofer to fully enjoy this video. Note that 6393 lacks dynamic brakes: This is the first Geep I've seen in Taft Yard without them.

Wow what a great couple of weeks. I got a new KATO AC4400CW online for only $90.00 and when to the hobby shop and got myself a CP Atlas GP40 for $94. I also got two ADM covered hoppers for a good deal only $21 each they are blue and yellow painted. Also two Cargil covered hoppers for the same amount, all of them are atlas. I picked up three www.cn.ca logo covered hoppers made by Intermountain for $35 each, other misc atlas covered hoppers, a UP athearn genesis boxcar for $35, and a Cotton Belt athearn genesis boxcar for only $22. What a RARE catch this was!! A Guilford Rail System (Boston & Main) GP40-2 4652 was helping CP 6020 and CP 5758!! This unit is based in Toronto Canada, but it was making a round trip from Toronto to Montreal and back. Apparently there was supposed to be a SOO Line loaded ethanol train headed east, but it never past. That's why you herd me say "There is a rare train coming in a few minutes."

I saw an opportunity and with permission from the local crew, i got a shot of the local gp40 while it was idling at the depot. Note: There is NO air conditioning and it felt like 150 degrees in this cab on an 80 degree day, but the seats are well-cushioned and recline which is a plus.

Ex-D&RGW GP40's 1448, 1347 and 1355 ease up the last mile to the cement plant at Davenport, north of Santa Cruz on a pleasant Monday morning. Two other photographers were also at this spot to see the train reach the end of the line. I was happy to get this clip, my camera was showing "yellow" battery when I set up and "red" battery once I was done!
