In August, after the last repair mission on the Hubble Space Telescope, astronomers directed its newest camera towards the same area of sky where just five years ago, the first Hubble Ultra Deep field image was made and recorded a new one - this time in the near-infrared, a wavelength invisible to the human eye. Over the course of four days, the camera shutter was open for one hundred seventy three thousand seconds and astronomers collected photons that had left their galaxies over 13 billion years ago. Sensitive to slightly longer wavelengths than its predecessors, the newly installed camera known as Wide Field Camera three recorded objects that are likely the oldest galaxies ever identified, having formed only a few hundred million years after the Big Bang. Here are the results. From EsoCast. An exoplanet orbiting a star that entered our Milky Way from another galaxy has been detected by a European team of astronomers. The Jupiter-like planet is particularly unusual, as it is orbiting a star nearing the end of its life and could be about to be engulfed by it, giving tantalising clues about the fate of our own planetary system in the distant future. Astronomers have detected nearly 500 planets orbiting stars in our cosmic neighbourhood, but none outside our Milky Way has been confirmed. Now, however, a planet weighing at least 1.25 times as much as Jupiter has been discovered orbiting a star of extragalactic origin, even though the star now finds itself within our own galaxy. The star, which is known as HIP 13044, lies about 2000 light-years from Earth and is part of the so- called Helmi stream. This stream of stars originally belonged to a dwarf galaxy, which was devoured by our Milky Way in an act of galactic cannibalism six to nine billion years ago. Astronomers detected the planet by looking for tiny telltale wobbles of the star caused by the gravitational tug of an orbiting companion. For these precise observations, the team used a high- resolution spectrograph called FEROS, attached to the 2.2-metre telescope at ESO's La Silla Observatory in Chile. The planet, HIP 13044 b, is also one of the few exoplanets known to have survived its host star massively growing in size after exhausting the hydrogen fuel supply in its core — the Red Giant <b>...</b>

In terms of price, the iPhone 4 is currently a much better value: it's priced at $200 and $300 for 16GB and 32GB versions, respectively. The Galaxy S 2 costs over $700 unlocked right now, but is likely to come down in price once it's available on a carrier. In terms of build quality, the iPhone 4 is superior because it makes use of metal and glass, while the Galaxy S 2 is plastic and glass. Both have a high quality feel in-hand. The screen of the Galaxy S 2 provides better contrast, but not as good of a viewing angle as the iPhone 4. We also found colors to be a bit more natural on the iPhone 4. In terms of web browsing speed, it's no contest: the dual 1.2GHz Exynos CPU and the 1GB of RAM makes the Galaxy S 2 very quick when browsing the web.
