Marshall Goldsmith -- Achieving Positive Changes in behavior
Whenever a client makes a mistake, Marshall Goldsmith makes a small profit. He uses small amounts of money to help achieve long-changes in their behavior through an exercise called "No, But, However." When working on the General's program for the United States Army, the head of the army asked Marshall to describe his favorite client. Marshall's response was "a smart, dedicated, hard working, driven to achieve, honest, ethical, creative, gets results, stubborn, opinionated know-it-all." The General replied, "Marshall, I think we have a target rich opportunity!" The "No, But, However" exercise fines an individual $20 if they start a sentence with any of the three words. In one instance, Marshall was reviewing a client's feedback and the client said, "But Marshall." Marshall gave the client a freebee, but noted that if the client were to start a sentence with "no," "but," or "however," he was going to lose $20. The client ended up walking out of the hour and a half session down $420. The client thanked Marshall, claiming he had no idea that was how he spoke. "I did that 21 times with you bring it to my attention. How many times would I have one it had you not pointed it out to me?" Using this technique, the individual made incredible progression. As a result, Marshall makes his clients part with a $20 bill each time they exhibit dysfunctional behavior.

Jerry Goldsmith - The Homecoming (A Christmas Story)
Fans have long desired a release of Jerry Goldsmith's folksy, intimate music for The Homecoming: A Christmas Story—a 1971 television movie which led to the popular series, The Waltons. Patricia Neal and Richard Thomas starred in the heart-warming story of a rural family's Christmas in 1933. Although the film was made quickly and on a limited budget, Goldsmith pinpointed the emotional core of the drama with a number of memorable themes. Sometimes lyrical and sometimes suspenseful, the music is consistently direct and captures the child-like sense of wonder that permeates the film. The composer arranged his score for a small orchestra that featured a core group consisting of two guitars, harmonica, accordion, recorder and harp. For this premiere CD release, the complete score (including some passages that were cut from the film) has been mastered from ¼" monaural tapes in the CBS Inc. Film and Television Collection at UCLA Performing Arts Special Collections.

1997 soundtrack A Patch of Blue [Intrada] Long out of print until its revival by Intrada, this score album represents something of the quieter, more contemplative side of Goldsmith's music. Composed for a poignant 1965 film about the gentle friendship between a black man (Sidney Poitier) and a abused blind white girl (Elizabeth Hartman) and the consequences of that friendship, the score relies heavily on piano, harmonica and flute, with Goldsmith's music having a dark quietude as slow, elegant musical figures underscore the plight of the friends and the darkness of the world around them. A Patch of Blue is a lovely score that ought to be placed amongst the finest work of a fine career.

Baby: Secret of The Lost Legend - The Rescue
Baby : Secret Of The Lost Legend, was re-released in 2008 with a running length of over fifty three minutes. This was the second release of the score, another version of the score had been released back in 1993, but it didnt have the same amount of music presented on the album as this new release does. This isnt regarded as one of Jerry Goldsmiths best albums, but it is a lot of fun, and it does serve as a precursor to some of the material that Jerry Goldsmith would use for his more lauded works (Legend, First Blood Part II, which were also released during the same year) . Disney is known for being extremely difficult when it comes to the release of film scores for their movies, unless its for a movie currently in theaters its practically impossible to get them to release anything at all. However Intrada record company was able to get through and negotiate a proper release of this score, and it was released as a limited edition with only 3000 copies created, and they were quickly snatched up in roughly two days, which is quite shocking I must say. The music does have similarities to other Goldsmith scores, most notably, Legend, Rambo II, and Under Fire ; even some familiar sounding material which you wouldnt hear until five to ten years down the line for Total Recall, The Ghost and The Darkness, and even Congo. Synthesizers are used heavily through out the score to represent the baby dinosaur and it comes off as an attempt to make it sound ultra cute, and at times it can <b>...</b>
