Director: Superhate Date: September 2005 This great video for Animal Collective's 'Grass' single was shot by the band's friend, Superhate and edited in Paris in August - September 2005. Making use of negative super 8mm film, the video is composed of some beautifully coloured footage taken at a number of live shows throughout Europe between 2004 - 2005, and interspersed with some of Avey Tare's ink drawings.

Splendor In The Grass: final scenes (Natalie Wood/Warren Beatty)
The great Elia Kazan directed the classic drama "Splendor In The Grass" (1961). The story by playwright William Inge is set in the Kansas of the late 1920's, early 1930's. Rich Bud Stamper (a fantastic debut for Warren Beatty) and butcher's daughter Wilma Dean (Deanie) Loomis are the couple envied by all the students at the local high school. But both have to deal with overbearing parents: Mrs. Loomis (Audrey Christie) who wants Deanie to be a "good girl" and Ace Stamper (Pat Hingle), a self made oil millionaire, who wants his son to follow into his footsteps even if Bud really wants to become a farmer. His son is Ace's only hope, since his daughter Ginny (Barbara Loden) is a stereotypical "bad girl": a Paris Hilton of her day, a rich girl who just wants to party. Here the legendary final scenes from "Splendor In The Grass". Deanie Loomis (Natalie Wood) and Bud Stamper (Warren Beatty) meet again for the first time in years.

There is something deeply unsettling and restless about this performance, I can't put my finger on it though. It's lyrical (just listen to that soft, yet snappy brass!), transparent but there's something very evanescent and fragile about Kegel's take on the work, I find it deeply moving. Kegel's unjustly forgotten these days, he was by far the most important champion of contemporary music in the communist German Democratic Republic, not always an easy role given the politics at the time. He was frequently plagued by depression and reputably not an easy person to work with - a perfectionist who molded the Leipzig Radio Choir into the best German-speaking choir at the time, one of the best choirs in the world. Brahms' Requiem is primarily a choral piece (the orchestra's prime purpose is to comment and back the choir, one of its anachronistic qualities) it profits immensely from the choir's virtuosity, knowledge of the text and native pronunciation. Kegel's interpretation is both analytical and lyrical, he's not afraid to take liberties with the tempo either - you can almost smell the brimstone as the choir sings, no, yells "Der Tod ist verschlungen in den Sieg" at the top of their lungs. But even during the intense fugues each word is intelligible. The orchestra plays beautifully, especially the brass. Siegfried Lorenz with his clean, almost tenor-like timbre sings the baritone solos beautifully, his unpretentious, yet clear diction is a marvel in itself, far too many <b>...</b>

Wer Gundermann noch nicht kennt, sollte sich diese Gelegenheit nicht entgehen lassen! Dieser oft als „Baggerfahrer und Rockpoet bezeichnete Rockmusiker und Liedermacher war musikalisch ein Tausendsassa. Von oft leicht melancholischen Balladen, oft leicht melancholisch, über handwerklich gut gemachten Folkrock bis zum Hardrockstück beherrschte er sein Handwerk. Und alles mit Texten, die wahrlich Tiefgang haben und das Zeitgeschehen mal bitter mal ironisch, aber immer treffend spiegelten. Die Arrangements unterstützt durch namhafte Musiker, wie Haßbecker und Barton von Silly -sind handwerklich überzeugend und wirklich gut gemacht. Jemand hat ihn mal als „Springsteen des Ostens bezeichnet. Ich weiß nicht, ob das wirklich paßt. Aber, abgesehen davon, daß Springsteen sein großes Vorbild war, sind sich auch ihre Musikstile und ihr Arbeitspensum auf der Bühne recht ähnlich. 1998 starb er, gerade mal 43-jährig, völlig unerwartet und viel zu früh. „Die Besten sterben jung ist kein rechter Trost.

Recette de foie gras au torchon
Recette en vidéo de L'atelier des Chefs Lobe de foie gras de canard entier, déveiné puis enveloppé d'un torchon et poché dans l'eau. X 6 Personnes 30 Min ingrédients pour foie gras au torchon Lobe(s) de foie gras de canard : 1 pièce(s) Sel fin : 7 gramme(s) Moulin à poivre : 1 gramme(s) Mélange 5 épices : 1 gramme(s) Porto blanc : 3 centilitre(s) Lait 1/2 ecrémé : 1 Litre(s) Eau : 1 Litre(s) Recette : Foie gras au torchon Préparer l'assaisonnement du foie gras en mélangeant le sel, le poivre du moulin et les 5 épices. Sortir le foie gras du réfrigérateur 1 h avant de le travailler et le mettre à dégorger (dans un mélange de lait et d'eau s'il est très sanguin). Séparer les 2 lobes. Pour le plus gros, ouvrir en 2 avec les doigts dans le sens de la longueur en écartant le foie gras sur les bords, enlever le nerf principal en forme de Y en partant de la base du foie. Finir avec le deuxième nerf qui se trouve sous le premier. Pour le-sous lobe, les 2 nerfs sont aussi l'un au-dessus de l'autre, mais en forme de X. Progresser de la même manière que pour le premier lobe. Assaisonner ensuite les lobes de foie avec 16 g d'assaisonnement au kilo, soit environ 8 g par lobe. Dissoudre l'assaisonnement avec le porto blanc, puis laisser le foie mariner au réfrigérateur plus ou moins longtemps selon la force que vous voulez lui donner. Poser le foie sur un torchon propre, l'envelopper tout en serrant. Maintenir les extrémités du torchon avec des ficelles. Faire bouillir un grand volume <b>...</b>
