This video shows a ship being designed, then arranged with others in a fleet, the fleet being deployed and ten a selection of different battles. GSB is not a traditional interactive RTS. The game plays like Tower-Defence. You design and select the ships, give them orders and formations, then hope for the best during battles against ai-owned or other player-designed ships.

Initially, I had wondered if having an entire deployment field filled with the Imperial Weapons Platforms would be hilarious. It was funny, but not quite ROFL-esque, and definitely not very effective. Then through divine providence (accident) I found out I could stack them. This caused the fleet effectiveness to shoot through the roof, and thus the impending hilarity. This is my fleet of 3600 operational strength versus a fleet of normal-diffculty AI with 24000 operational strength. Also, this game is fantastic - you should get it!

This is the trailer for the new expansion pack 'The Swarm' which adds a new race to the indie space strategy game 'Gratuitous Space Battles'. This new race is based around lots of fast, cheap ships, rather than strong ones. They have smart bombs which destroy incoming missiles, and also fusion guns for fighters, new frigate crew modules, target boosters for fighters and new 'converging laser' style beam weapons called disruptor beams.
