Gamecube Paper Mario: low level run Vs Grodus
1)minimal leveling up, only fighting neccessary battles. 2)no badges except the one given to you for the badge tutorial 3)no leveling up partners 4)no shops 5)no cooking This battle is against the big boss Grodus! Since those green "Grodus X"s raise his defense (and make him invincible if all 4 are present), I had to rely on Flurrie and the Earth Tremor star power. Bobbery makes an utterly useless appearance too (I should have picked Vivian) Annoyingly, the mist that filled the stage early on didn't help me all that much. Neither did Grodus' spamming of "dodgey". And if you're wondering, yeah, Bowser CREAMED me after this battle Edit: Added video annotations!

Gamecube Paper Mario: low level run Vs Grodus (Version 2)
Last time I defeated Grodus in this run, I didn't get the level up I needed to take on Bowser. Hence I left the thousand Year Door and squirelled up 6 extra star points. Little did I realise that Grodus was not going to let me beat him again without a fight (...well duh, but you know what I mean) I realised how useful bomb squad is against "Grodus X"s. One well placed bomblet will destroy any and all of the "Grodus X"s. Also, "Grodus X"s don't seem to affect the damage Bobbery does to Grodus (unless all 4 are present). Flurrie is rather cake by comparison...

Bosses in chapter 8 Tips: This fight is honestly pretty challangeing JUST because its a back to back, no healing in between, boss fight. Grodus is the easy part surprisingly, the main thing that makes this easy is that your freashly healed! befor doing this fight I HIGHLY recommend haveing about 75 star points or so, so when you defeat Grodus, youll get a level up and have full health for Bowser! Doing that makes this fight a whole lot easier, the reason I dident do it is because some wanna see the challange. When Bowser and Kammy Koopa come out, Attack Kammy first! She can heal, andthis is a BITCH to deal with, she also has stat boosters for her and bowser. Takeing her out first also makes the fight alot easier as well! Paper Mario 2 at 10 HP - Grodus
Grodus, the leader of the X-Nauts, may only have five times as much HP as Mario, but that doesn't mean he's a piece of cake. Well, he WAS pretty easy, with the right items. If you take a challenge like this in a Paper Mario game, items can give you the advantage you need. (Except Super Paper Mario.) As a matter of fact, the first two bosses in each turn-based Paper Mario game has provided the player with an item to make the fights much easier.

My only flaw here is Art Attack - a little too much, I should have just waited a turn and then used Fiery Jinx. Fortunately the Unsimplifiers bring the star power back up quickly and the Close Calls (I stole one from a Koopatrol in the sewers in addition to Petal Meadows and Lovely Howz of Badges) give very nice odds of avoiding trouble. We went through the dark depths, and we arrive at the Throne Room, I think it's called the Throne Room, and there would be a battle with Grodus. He's not that hard to defeat, if you watch this video to see. The Grodus X must be those things, bit like a Yux.

This glitch is bogus. I don't really consider this spoilers since it's pretty easy to predict that you would fight Sir Grodus. For the uninformed, I found this glitch on the Mario wiki, and was told about it in a comment: "During the battle with Sir Grodus, the player can make Ms. Mowz divide into three. When it says "All direct attacks will be countered", the player will have to take out Ms. Mowz (If Mario already has her out, the player can just keep her out) and do the Love Slap attack. After it's over, the game makes the player repeat the process but instead of the control stick being in the picture, the A button will be there. The player will have to do nothing. Then Ms. Mowz will divide in to three. The real one goes back with Mario, the second one will stay by Grodus and the last one jumps behind him and runs in midair. "
