Scale Running Model Harley Panhead Engine by Ron Colonna
V-Twin Panhead Ignition: Spark Bore: 1 5/16 in. Stroke: 1 1/2 in. Two Cylinder Four Cycle No Castings Used This engine was scratch built to a scale of 2/5ths or 40% of full size. The bottom end was taken from a drawing of a Knuckelhead engine that I puchased on e-bay. The top end was patterned after photos taken from e-bay of Harley parts for sale. I also bought a Harley repair manual that helped with the oil system. The crankcase was split into three sections instead of the usual two for ease of machining. The ignition is solid state and I use a GM coil which fires the two plugs simultaneously. Timing is advanced and retarded with the timer body. Two rotating magnets fire a Hall effect device at the proper times as per full sized points. The engine is large enough to produce that lovely V-twin sound.

12:55pm Saturday 28 November 2009. The first time in the world that a Harley Davidson has been back flipped to Dirt. Kain Saul from the Gold Coast-Australia, was the mad man behind the bars. The XR1200 Sportster was supplied by Harley Davidson Australia and prepared by Gavin Walker and co from Quick Fix Harley Davidson Mildura, The bike tips the scales at 257 kilo and has around 100 horsepower. Here are the modifications they made: -STD Harley Street rod rear shocks -Tag handle bars -Strengthened triple trees -WP front forks with heavier springs and valving -Chain drive with the standard swing arm -KTM front master cylinder the rear brake pedal was removed -Knobby tires The jump took place in Victoria at one of Cam Sinclair's practice compounds that is owned by Russ and the boys. Cam Sinclair is the first person to throw a double backflip into a freestyle run. He was there to give a hand, he is pretty handy at flipping things. Filmed and edited by Firestorm Films. The new Harley-Davidson 48 is supposed to help the American firm attract a new younger fashion-conscious audience. The 48 is basically a stripped-back Sportster 1200, with a wide 150-section front tyre. The speedo is mounted flat on the top yoke and the mirrors are mounted under the handlebars to give the 48 a flat-topped look.

How To Adjust An Evolution Harley Davidson Sportster or Buell Motorcycle Primary Chain & Change Oil
Here's how to adjust an Evolution Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle primary chain. www.hoohoohoblin.com is where you can see more about my Sportster-Engine bikes. Adjusting the primary chain tension and changing the fluid is really easy to do, and you can see everything involved in this video. If you have a 2002 or older tube-framed Buell motorcycle with the Harley Davidson Evolution Sportster Engine, this will work for you as well. Just open the inspection hole, measure the gap, crank the engine over 5 or 10 times and measure to see if there is less than 1 inch of play at the tightest point with the engine cold. It's really easy to do, and these chains don't stretch much, so most of the time you won't need to adjust it. To change the oil, drain it, and then dump in a quart. I show you how to check the Evolution Sportster primary fluid in this video, but if you're changing the oil you don't need to check it. Just put in a fresh quart of Harley-Davidson Sportster primary oil after you drain it. I hope this helps you learn to do this yourself. It's simple, and you'll save a lot of money on service.
