HTC released yet another update to the HTC Watch app, so now it finally might work for everyone with a HTC device! In the video above, I take a walkthrough of the HTC Watch app on my T-Mobile HD7. The video quality of the app is excellent, and the Mango multitasking works extremely well. Responding to a text message isn't an issue anymore, thanks to the multitasking. The store also has a decent selection of movies and TV Shows, like Hall Pass or Two and a Half Men. Renting a new movie costs a typical $3.99, which is sort of pricey for a mobile phone, but that is the usual price for online rentals. Older movie releases are cheaper, like $2.99. You can also purchase movies for $14.99 instead of renting them. The interface is really fluid and easy to use. Payments are accepted via credit/debit cards. You can also add up to 5 devices to your HTC account, so if your family uses a HTC Windows Phone, link up those accounts!! And, you can configure the cache management inside the app, so you can choose how much data space you want the app to take up on the phone. The app isn't all good news, however. You can NOT watch movies over 3G, so you're stuck with finding WiFi connections. The audio volume is also pretty quiet, so you're stuck using headphones or connecting some speakers and turning up the volume to max. Important Note about wiping data / cache: This is only really necessary when you install a rom that is very different from your current rom. For example, if I'm running das bamf 1.5, and I am going to install das bamf 1.6.3. There is no need to wipe data / cache. That comment was based on just a few minutes with the phone, and as anyone knows, the real test comes from using the phone for an extended period of time. Did this statement hold up after running it through my usual battery of tests? Is this the best Android phone currently on T-Mobile? There are a heck of a lot of pros to the HTC Sensation 4G, but also a few glaring cons. I can confidently say this is currently the best phone on T-Mobile, but the cons are strong enough to make you possibly think twice. Hi folks! I'm back with my repaired HTC Desire S and I'll be showing you how to get root access to the phone by making it "S-Off". This should work on the following phones and devices: HTC Desire, HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire, HTC Aria, HTC Incredible S, HTC Droid Incredible 2, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC Evo 4G, HTC View, HTV Flyer, HTC Sensation, HTC Evo 3D and the myTouch 4G What you will need: 1 HTC Desire S (It does work on the Desire too and others mentioned) 1 USB cable 1 PC 1 lemon What does S-Off mean? If your phone is S-Off it means you have access and can write to the NAND memory of the phone. This allows you to do things that you wouldn't normally be able to do -- such as rooting your phone and installing custom ROMs (firmware). Step 1: Go to revolutionary.io and download the Windows package (or Linux if you are on a Linux box). Unzip it to somewhere you can easily find (such as your Desktop). Step 2 Uninstall HTC Sync if you have it installed on your computer. This is just so that it doesn't interfere with the S-Off process. Go to your Control Panel and then find Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Uninstall a Program/Programs & Features (Windows Vista/7) and find HTC Sync in the list of installed programs on your computer. Click to remove/uninstall the application. Step 3: Turn off "Fast boot" on your HTC Desire S. This has to be disabled so you can boot into the recovery mode properly.
