Hands-on HTC Flyer Android Gingerbread tablet with Sense 2.1 UI

We take an eyes-on look at the HTC Flyer tablet from HTC. The tablet runs Android Gingerbread, but uses a tablet-customized version of HTC Sense UI to make up for the lack of Android Honeycomb OS. The standout feature on the Flyer is the Scribe digitizer pen that allows you to annotate eBooks, notes, etc.. The Android navigation buttons also move and rotate, depending on the orientation of the tablet itself.

HTC Flyer Tablet Review

A video review of the HTC Flyer 7" Android tablet with WiFi. Check out our full review at: www.mobiletechreview.com The Flyer sells for $299 at Best Buy (price drop) and it runs Android OS 2.3.3 Gingerbread with HTC Sense software. HTC went with Gingerbread instead of the tablet-centric Honeycomb so they could heavily customize the tablet with HTC Sense widgets, apps and social networking integration. They also added support for an active digitizer pen in addition to capacitive multi-touch, for you note-takers and artists. The pen is sold separately for a steep $79.99.

HTC Jetstream Unboxing

HTC Jetstream Unboxing TechnoBuffalo unboxes AT&T's first 4G LTE capable tablet, the premium priced HTC Jetstream. The Jetstream's price is a tough pill to swallow at $699.99 with a two-year contract; equally as hard on the wallet is its $850 price tag without contract. That's not to say, however, that this tablet doesn't come packed with some fantastic features: 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU, 10.1-inch display, 32GB of internal storage, Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) with HTC Sense 1.0 overlaid, 8-megapixel camera and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. The materials of the Jetstream is of the utmost quality. The 10.1-inch screen is very nice on the eyes and includes a very subtle but welcome lip on each side of the device when you hold it horizontally. But do the more than capable internals, 4G LTE on AT&T and premium build quality justify the high price? Are you excited for the HTC Jetstream? HTC FLYER.7 inch 32 GB ANDROID TABLET.

www.drakescomputersprojectors.com HTC is carving itself a slice of tablet pie with the Flyer. But this 7-inch device doesn't run the latest, tablet-centric version of Android, instead using an older version of Google's operating system. As such, its software could be this tablet's downfall, despite its slick hardware. The Flyer will be landing in shops in early spring. Although it's bound to be pricey, it should be subsidised on various networks. Update: This article originally stated that the phone would run Android 2.4 Gingerbread. Google has subsequently confirmed that the correct name for this software version is 2.3.3 Gingerbread. Behind the times The Flyer isn't part of the pack of tablets running the latest version of Google's Android software, 3.0 Honeycomb, which has been optimised for such devices. Instead, HTC has slapped its Sense custom user interface, seen on the company's smart phones, over the top of Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Sticking to the older version of Android has given HTC the time to customise the interface significantly. We haven't seen the Flyer's user interface in action yet, but HTC told us that it's tweaked all of its apps to take advantage of the tablet's extra screen space. For example, the email app will have two panels, showing your inbox and an email at the same time. HTC is one of the only companies that's done a great job of skinning Android. Its Sense user interface has been making geeky phone software better-looking and easier to use ...

ZL Daily #47 - 10-Inch HTC Puccini Tablet, Verizon Xperia Play, Sony's Thunderbolt Machines...

Today a leaked ROM of what is going to be a new HTC tablet showed up. The tablet should be called the HTC Puccini. It's going to be like the HTC Flyer but with a larger 10-inch screen at a 1280x800 resolution. Plus it will be running Android 3.0 Honeycomb which is really great since Gingerbread really wasn't made for tablets. It also has a 1.5GHz processor and it all is running on a new HTC Sense user interface which is a mix between Sense 3.0 and the tablet Sense. Other countries have already got the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smartphone. But it looks like Verizon in the United States is finally getting one of these nice new gaming smartphones. It will have the standard 1GHz processor but the big thing with this is the slide out gaming pad. Instead of a keyboard you have a controller similar to the PSP Go. So this machine was made for gaming, it even has a really nice GPU. And you get seven free games right out of the box if you pay the $200 price to get one of these on May 26th. So Apple right now is the only company producing machines that use the Intel Thunderbolt port. They have their iMacs and MacBook Pros. The port offers 10Gbps of data transfer which is really fast. But it looks like soon Sony will join in with some new notebooks. There was an image that was leaked of a new Sony machine. It has a USB port that's a bit different than the others it's a USB port with Thunderbolt inside. That's very interesting, we'll have to see how the different Thunderbolt devices ...

HTC FLYER TABLET - - - Giveaway - - - May - June 2011

HTC FLYER GIVEAWAY: pvaworld.info The Flyer isn't part of the pack of tablets running the latest version of Google's Android software, 3.0 Honeycomb. Instead, HTC has slapped its Sense custom user interface, seen on the company's smart phones, over the top of Android 2.4 Gingerbread. For those keeping track of version numbers, Android 2.4 and Android 2.3 are both known as 'Gingerbread', since these two versions of the operating system are almost identical. Android 3.0 Honeycomb is a version specifically designed for tablets, rather than for smart phones. Its Sense user interface has been making geeky phone software better-looking and easier to use ever since it first appeared on the Hero. Consequently, we're cautiously optimistic about HTC's software efforts on the Flyer. We also loved the Samsung Galaxy Tab, even though it only ran Android 2.2, so there's hope for the Flyer too. But — and this is a big but — the Galaxy Tab came out about five months ago, before Honeycomb was even out. At the time, we were thrilled to embrace a more ...

Android Tablet - HTC Flyer Review

getfreetablet.info - go here to get free tablet. Google Android Tablet PC HTC Flyer Review: HTC has opted for the smaller form factor of a seven inch tablet for the Flyer. Although many prefer a bigger screen, we did like how it comfortably fitted in one hand, making it easier to use with your free hand. It weighs just 420g, which HTC chief executive Peter Chou pointed out was lighter than the average paperback book. Carrying and using the tablet for long periods of time should therefore still be comfortable. We weren't so sure about the colouring of the Flyer. Although the aluminium and white plastic styling is distinctive, we missed the sleek black designs of its rivals and thought it made it look a bit cheap and tacky rather than high-end. However, it is what's inside that counts. The Flyer uses a customised version of Android 2.4 incorporating HTC's Sense user interface. We were surprised HTC hadn't opted for Android 3.0, which was designed specifically with tablets in mind, instead going for a familiar smartphone version. It did seem easy to use, however, and featured all the little bonuses that come on HTC Android phones such as seven home screens and the clock/weather application. The Flyer comes equipped with a speedy 1.5GHz processor, beating many of its competitors on paper by some distance, but it only comes in one model -- a 32GB Wi-Fi-only design. We expect a 3G version would come in the future if the WiFi-only version proves popular, but for now we were ...

HTC Flyer Review

For the complete HTC Flyer review, go to www.infosyncworld.com Tablets are assaulting the market this year, and we happened to get our hands on yet another one. The HTC Flyer joins the ranks of the Motorola XOOM, T-Mobile G-Slate iPad 2, and Samsung Galaxy Tab. However, the Flyer is our favorite model yet, offering a few tasty features that cannot be found on any of its competition. Take the optical pen-based writing and drawing capabilities of the Flyer, which converts the tablet into a notepad, sketch book, or Polaroid picture that can be scribbled on. It also fulfills the multimedia hound's needs by offering HTC Watch for streaming the latest movies straight to the device and OnLive Cloud Gaming with titles like Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, NBA 2K11, and Lego Harry Potter. Although the tablet resided on the small side of life, it proved to have the most superior Android interface, courtesy of HTC Sense, and was the speediest and most solid tablet we've seen yet, next to the iPad. Let's take off with the HTC Flyer.

HTC Jetstream Review

HTC Jetstream Review In a fiercely competitive tablet market, price is one of the biggest factors consumers consider. Case in point: Kindle Fire. Following the device's announcement back in September, Amazon's newest Kindle member, priced at $199, has seen record pre-order numbers pile up, and it still hasn't been released. Granted, it does have Amazon's ecosystem behind it, but the $199 consumer-friendly price is a huge draw. So how does a company offering an Android tablet, similar to other Android tablets, stand out? For the 4G LTE enabled HTC Jetstream, the price is its biggest headline, but for all the wrong reasons. At its cheapest, the HTC Jetstream is offered at $699 with a two year contract and $849 without -- no, that is not a typo. That alone is enough to turn away consumers, and it's unfortunate because the wonderful build quality, HTC Sense UI and Scribe technology make it a solid device, albeit one that many probably won't get to experience because of its premium price. It's worth noting, too, that we did notice a slight lag during daily operation, even though the device is packing a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. With an LTE enabled Galaxy Tab 10.1 available at a much friendlier price, the Jetstream is a hard device to recommend. In any case, check out the video for the full review. tchno.be For more tech goodness, check us out at: www.technobuffalo.com Follow Us on Twitter www.twitter.com Like Us on Facebook: www.facebook.com Check Us Out on Google + tchno.be
