HTC Rezound Unboxing We've already seen the HTC Rezound in action, and the Beats Audio integrated device was music to our ears. Now we're getting a more intimate look at the burly phone, and you know what? We still think it's a device that will turn more than a few heads. The HTC Rezound packs a punch with its snappy 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and Verizon's fast 4G LTE network. So far in our limited use the snappy internals make for a buttery smooth Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) experience. In just a short while Gingerbread will become old hat, though, as the Rezound is shipping Ice Cream Sandwich ready, so users can look forward to that sometime early next year. HTC Sense 3.5 looks beautiful on the device's 4.3-inch 720p display. Yesterday we got our hands on the HTC Sensation XL (which had a 4.7-inch screen), and we absolutely loved the screen, but the Rezound looks to be a good middle ground. You can't tell by just looking at it, but the Rezound is heavy. However, that's not such a bad thing because the soft touch materials feel solid, and the textured back is nice when holding the device one handed. The black and red combo gives the phone a premium, sleek look as well that will evoke past HTC designs. Audiophiles looking for a Beats by Dre experience will be pleased to know that the Rezound packs Beats audio support along with some Beats earbuds for the full experience. HTC Rezound Review When we got our hands-on the HTC Rezound earlier this month, we came away thoroughly impressed. It's packed with a quick 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, Verizon's 4G LTE and an absolutely stunning 4.3-inch 720p display that gives the Retina variety on the iPhone a run for its money. Two weeks on, and we're happy to report that our opinion of the Rezound hasn't changed in the least. In fact, the device is still surprising us with its quality. While the HTC Rezound isn't the thinnest phone around (13.7mm), it's still a very attractive device. Just as we said during our hands-on, the black and red combo gives the phone a sleek and premium look, and the build materials are top quality. You won't get any of that cheap plastic feel here. With phones like the Droid Razr, Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S II no doubt taking the majority of the spot light this holiday season, the Rezound may unfortunately be a device that goes unnoticed by the masses. For audiophiles, the Rezound is definitely a device to take notice of. Consumers will have some big decisions to make with so many high quality Android phones hitting the market. How to Bootloader Unlock your HTC Rezound 1. Make an HTC developer account at htcdev.com if you already have one, login in and go to step 2. 2. Go to htcdev.com click the "unlock bootloader" button, then "Get started". 3. On the right, select HTC Rezound from device list, "Begin Unlock Bootloader" 4. Click Yes. 5. Check both boxes, click Proceeed to unlock instructions. 6. Fully power off your phone. 7. Remove the back cover of your phone, and take your battery out and put it back in. 8. Hold Volume Down and Power at the same time to enter bootloader mode. 9. Press power to enter fastboot mode 10. Plug in your phone via USB. 11. HTC Rezound Hands On I got that Boom Boom Boom, we like that Boom Boom Boom! After busting out the Running Man and Coffee Grinder while listening to the bass-o-licious Black Eyed Peas on the new HTC Rezound, my thirst for booming bass within the smartphone world had been quenched. Not only did the Rezound dish out the low end courtesy of its Beats Audio integration, but the phone also kicked out some fierce specs, flaunting a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, HTC Sense 3.5 and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. An Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will be available eventually for the Rezound, so have no fear.HTC also hyped the phone's camera. It's got a low light-chomping F/2.2 lens 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with the ability to capture 1080p HD video. The front-facing camera is a 2-megapixel shooter, and the HTC Rezound is equipped with 16GB of internal storage and a 16GB MicroSD card, totaling 32GB.
