BMW Motorrad manufactured 82631 motorcycles in 2009,as compared to 104220 in 2008,a fall of 20.7%. The most famous model is the R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure, which sold 24467 units. Current production includes a variety of shaft, chain, and belt driven bykes, with engines from 450 cc to 1600 cc; and models designed for off-road, dual-purpose, and touring activities.
