From about 9:30 am to 6 pm there was a 6 story tall Windows Phone in Herald Square. At the top it was showing Windows Phone related tweets as notification pop-ups and live tiles were rotating between different apps or whatnot through most of the morning. A quote from our Windows Phone 7.5 review actually showed up in one of those tiles a few times. Then at noon the big demonstration and series of performances began.

If you do, just be sure to mention I made it and link to the original video.* I was just filming the elevator, which I do as a hobby (in case you didn't know that already), and I accidentally get a random guy in the shot when getting a cab view. He got EXTREMELY angry and reported me to the security guard! I then was immediately detained and got a whole runaround, the first guard getting his supervisor at the request of the crazy guy, then the supervisor getting the store director of security, named David. The first two weren't that nice, especially since the first one kept accusing me of leaving my camera on. I used the Sony W290 for this video so I could get the video rolling without the TX10's 5 second delay, though the TX10 is harder to recognize as a camera. The cost of avoiding the delay was being noticed, however, I did convince them that the camera was off and the lens was out because of a problem with the camera. I also had my fingers over the microphone by accident to avoid being spotted filming, but you should be able to hear the people fine, if anything you might have to turn up your speakers. When the director showed up, he was very nice, and I had a chat with him. He didn't mention the rude man's claims or the fact that I got him in the shot; he started focusing only on the fact that I was simply filming the elevator. This is a video of an R68A on the (Q) arriving and departing 34th Street-Herald Squre on the BMT Broadway Line. There was heavy construction going on here when this was filmed, so you barely hear anything, but I got the camera out since this was an R68A (Q). R68As are commonly seen on the (N) and (Q) over weekends, since the (B) line where these cars are assigned does not run on weekends.

This is the video that got me detained and removed from the store! These are the very nice and HISTORIC elevators here, that go to the basement (LL), the street level (1), and levels 8 and 9. There is a cabinet that has the buttons for floors 2-7 inside, but it is locked, however it should take the NYC Fire Service key (1620/2642) since that panel probably is required to be accessed by firefighters in case of an emergency. I have no clue where these open up on floors 2-7. These were originally Gurney, a rare older NYC local brand, but these were modernized with Monitor TR fixtures. There are 3 elevators next to these that are still manually-controlled original Gurney with the manual control crank/lever and awesome vintage cabs, but they are hard to sneak on since they are open on floor 1 and these elevators are next to security on 1. Also, the original elevator on the left is behind a door on 1, but the other two are out in the open. For whatever reason, they chose to only modernize two, and most everything was replaced, cabs, fixtures, doors, everything. As you can see in this video, some dude (possibly undercover security) got all mad because I got him in my video. I tell him that I am sorry and would edit him out of the video. Of course, because of this man's behavior, his face was NOT EDITED OUT, and this is a public place anyways; he can expect to be filmed. Anyway, we both got out of the elevator on floor 1, and just as I was about to sneak on one of the manually <b>...</b>

This is a rather unique NYC subway elevator, since it has a bit of a unique design and a nice-sounding hydraulic motor. It still has GAL JetPlus Vandal Resistant fixtures and has been heavily vandalized, just like most every other elevator in the system. This has unique walls, too, similar to the walls on R62/R62A/R68/R68A subway cars. I'm thinking the MTA might have used OTIS for this installation because of the circular lanterns, a common feature on OTIS elevators.
