Looking back on all 80+ of my videos, this is my favorite recording, there is just so much about this session that is amazing I can't begin to explain, especially the fact that I couldn't reproduce this if I tried and I will never play Place to Be like this again. In this video there is this beautiful balance between emotion and buildup, tension and release, and that element of synergy between us that is really just amazing to listen to. Well, that is my opinion anyways, haha, I hope you enjoy it too ================== This is a (simplified) cover I had been working on of Hiromi Uehara's "Place to Be" that randomly came up in our jam session when I felt like playing it, I didn't adapt the bridge to our jazzy hip hop style yet but maybe I will sometime, I just really liked the melody and messing around on the main chords. Just an observation, but I see a theme in my songs (or just the way I play) which sounds both sorrowful and hopeful at the same time, like someone going through dark times but who can still see the light at the end of the tunnel and is striving for it, which I think often describes my life and other's as well. I'm curious as to whether any of you experience that as well when listening. For this song (don't quote me on it) I think Hiromi once described this song as being about how even though she has toured all over the world she still hasn't found her "place to be," which is what I have in mind when I play it. Also, this was the first time we've ever <b>...</b>
