Holden's HSV W427
Holden is celebrating HSV's 20th anniversary with the release of the fastest car ever produced in Australia - the HSV W427. Unveiled for the first time at the Melbourne Motor Show 2008, the HSV W427 (427 represents the engine's size in cubic inches) marks a new era in Australian muscle cars with a Chevrolet Corvette sourced 7.0-litre LS7 engine producing 370 kW (500 hp) of power and 640 Nm of torque. The engine is assembled by hand specifically for use in the Holden-based sedan and features an advanced dry-sump lubrication system required to match the performance potential of the car.The production version should complete the 0 - 100km/h sprint in around 4.7 seconds thus catapulting the local hero car into a select group of high-performance sedans which features the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG, BMW M5 and Audi RS6. The HSV W427 will go on sale towards the middle of 2008 priced somewhere between $140000 and $170000. www.hsv.com.au

James Holden is a British electronic music artist and DJ who has released numerous singles and remixes on different labels such as Lost Language, Perfecto Recordings, and Positiva Recordings. He currently runs his Border Community record label. He was also one-third of Mainline, which was responsible for the double single of "Narcotic" and "Innerspace". He has also worked with singer Julie Thompson as Holden & Thompson. Studied Mathematics at Oxford University and released his first record at age 19. In April 2006 his mix album James Holden at the Controls was Mixmag's Album of the Month.

700hp+ Holden six - PROFC
GM Holden made the iconic red motor six back in 1964 and it was the mainstay for Holden up until 1985 when unleaded fuel killed it off. It was a tough little motor and Holden made millions of them but I don't think anyone ever thought the little 202ci six would be ever making over 700hp. Paul Coles from Pro Street Automotive owns this awesome little FC and he feeds the tough little 202 with 30psi boost and enough methanol to drown a supercharged big block. Fastest time to date is 10.12 at 132mpg but he recently up the horsepower again and looking for nine second timeslips. Unfortunately the traction wasn't there on the weekend at Heathcote but hopefully Paul will hit the nines soon.

Nathan Fake is an English electronic music artist from Norfolk, who has released numerous singles as well as a full-length album on labels such as Border Community and Traum Schallplatten. He is credited with startling the techno dance community with his first release "Outhouse" on Border Community, due to his young age (he was 20 years old in 2003). In 2006, his debut album "Drowning in a Sea of Love" was released on Border Community. The album received excellent reviews in the music press and was voted the second best album of the year in the Mixmag 2006 Best Album list.
