I've been trying to do a series like this FOREVER and just couldn't make it work . . . . until I tried this format. I can read much better than I can talk off the cuff. : ) I think having good reference materials in written or book form is very important for the homesteader / preppers out there. Even in rural libraries, there isn't usually a very good section beyond gardening for folks interested in self-sufficiency. In this video, I share those volumes I've come to depend on in my own homesteading journey towards self-reliance (not there yet by a long shot) and think worthy of being promoted. These videos take me quite a while to produce, so I probably won't be loading more than one topic a week. Please be patient and II hope you find this series helpful.

This is an easy way to make Kahlua....It's great to bring to friends and maybe barter for the items you need.... Recipe as follows 24 cups brewed coffee 7 or 8 cups Vodka 2 cups sugar 2 oz vanilla extract or three beans split in half (made sure each bottle gets equal amounts of bean) Bring it all to a rolling boil together and then jar it up in hot canning jars with lids and can it like you would tomato's..... More vodka less coffee means higher alcohol content (higher proof)...I alway make it strong and then temper it down by taste, I like it the way I make it here, it's about 35 proof, meaning it's about the same as Coffee brandy at the liquor store. The Better the ingredients you use the better the product will be... Pour with milk and you got a great drink... I Brew the coffee fresh because I don't like the Instant Stuff but to each there own and all that!!!
