Königshütte/Oberschlesien
1797 wurde die namensgebende Königshütte als preußisches Staatsunternehmen gegründet. Sie war eins der ersten mit Dampfkraft betriebenen Hüttenwerke auf dem europäischen Kontinent. Ein 1802 angestochener Hochofen war damals der größte Europas. Seit 1871 war der Betrieb Teil der Vereinigten Königs- und Laurahütte. Adolph von Menzel reiste 1875 nach Königshütte, um hier Studien für sein Gemälde Eisenwalzwerk zu betreiben.Die Stadtgemeinde Königshütte im oberschlesischen Kreis Beuthen war zum 17. Juli 1868 [4] aus dem Gutsbezirk Königshütte, Hüttenwerk, Kolonie Erdmannswille, Charlottenhof und aus Teilen der Landgemeinde Chorzow und der Gutsbezirke Ober Heiduk, Mittel Lagiewnik, Ober Lagiewnik und Schwientochlowitz gegründet worden. Die Veröffentlichung des königlichen Dekrets zur Stadterhebung durch den Oberpräsidenten der Provinz Schlesien erfolgte am 17. April 1869. Zum ersten kommissarischen Bürgermeister der neugegründeten Stadt wurde am 9. März 1869 der Bürgermeister a. D. Lange aus Bernau berufen und zu seinem ordentlichen Nachfolger wurde ein Jahr später der Gerichtsassessor Goetz..Seit dem 20. He usually appeared in supporting roles. Among his best known films are Beau Geste (1939) and The Great McGinty (1940). For his role as Sergeant Markoff in Beau Geste he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. His obituary in The Times newspaper in the United Kingdom stated that "any consideration of the American 'film noir' of the 1940s would be incomplete without him." Donlevy began his career in New York in the early 1920s, appearing in many theater productions and also winning an increasing number of silent film parts. Previously, he had modeled for the illustrator JC Leyendecker who produce illustrations for the famous Arrow Collar ads. His Broadway credits included Hit the Deck and Life Begins at 8:40. Donlevy's break came in 1935, when he was cast in the Edward G. Robinson film Barbary Coast. A large amount of film work followed, with several important parts. In 1939, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as the ruthless Sergeant Markoff in Beau Geste, although the Oscar went to Thomas Mitchell for Stagecoach. These reserves were the largest in the world until Venezuela announced they had increased their proven reserves to 297 Gbbl in January 2011. The Saudi reserves are about one-fifth of the world's total conventional oil reserves, a large fraction of these reserves comes from a small number of very large oil fields, and past production amounts to 40% of the stated reserves. Oil reserves in the United Arab Emirates, according to its government, are about 98 billion barrels (15.6×109 m3), almost as big as Kuwait's claimed reserves. Of the emirates, Abu Dhabi has most of the oil with 92 billion barrels (14.6×109 m3) while Dubai has 4 billion barrels (640×106 m3) and Sharjah has 1.5 billion barrels (240×106 m3). Most of the oil is in the Zakum field which is the third largest in the Middle East with an estimated 66 billion barrels (10.5×109 m3). The UAE produces about 2.9 million barrels per day (460×103 m3/d) of total oil liquids, but has stated its intention to increase this to 5 million barrels per day (790×103 m3/d) by 2014. The UAE's reserves-to-production is about 93 years.
