A edit of a site-specific installation in the wine cellar of an old mansion. A very typical family film serves as a basis for this 8-channel video installation. The film gives account of a trip to the seaside and is simultaneously accompanied with similar images from the IICADOM-archive. A sense of synchronicity is created which transforms the banality of such an occasion into collective memory.

A Teaser for the movie Paradise Recollected by Jasper Rigole. The film Paradise Recollected is compiled out of archive material from The International Institute for the Conservation, Archiving and Distribution of Other peoples Memories. This archive consists mainly of found 8mm films, sourced from flea markets and garage sales. These are amateur films, travelogues and family documents whose main purpose is to remember certain occasions. Paradise Recollected takes a Medieval description of the land of Cockaigne as a starting point. This anonymous, Middle Dutch text describes a dreamland which is the basis for later descriptions of the land of plenty'. In the film, the internal logic of this fictive country is linked to the typical elements which give the family home movie its own language.

A found erotic film from the 1950s is the basis for Nude Decay. The film is aged and partly decayed. The intact pieces are cut out and only the affected parts remain. The result is an almost abstract film in which the skin of the female nude seems to coincide with the texture of the perished film.
Sea Scent is a video clip for the band Tape Tum. The song was originally written for the movie By the sea and was later further developed by the band. Sea scent is an answer to this new version and uses a decayed 8mm film to visualize the music.
OUTNUMBERED, a brief history of imposture is an audiovisual installation by Jasper Rigole that examines the strategies used in making documentaries, Fact Fiction novels and popular scientific equivalents. In the second part of the installation, it becomes evident that the first image is live and generated by a machine on which a panoramic school photograph for 1936 is hung. The machine is an inversion of the traditional rostrum camera. Instead of the camera moving above the photograph, the photograph moves in front of the camera.
OUTNUMBERED, a brief history of imposture is an audiovisual installation by Jasper Rigole that examines the strategies used in making documentaries, Fact Fiction novels and popular scientific equivalents. The video projection in the first part of the installation shows a camera moving over an old school photograph, using the pan-and-scan effect. This technique is frequently used in documentary films to animate still archival footage. As the camera moves from one face to another, a voice explains who these students are and what their mutual relation is. According to the narration, the boys depicted are historical figures, some well known and others more obscure. They all seem to have a link to imposture.
