Very strong wind and huge monster waves almost sank the biggest ship I ever sail!
Worst weather ever, very strong nasty wind and huge monster waves in big storm almost sank the biggest ship I ever sail! Rough sea with Giant Ocean waves top over the huge ship when we sail around Cape Horn (Tierra del Fuego) between Chile and Argentina. Waves cover the deck top and force from the starboard side while stormy weather with severe wind and waves roll the vessel side to side. I thought that we will sink for sure because I knew that engine is not so good since it blackout the other day and it might stop every moment now. Another scary thing is that we were so close to the coast of Chile with reefs in shallow sea and any engine stoppage for more than few minutes can allow the rough sea and big waves to brake and push the vessel to the reefs where it will brake and sink for sure. It does not seem but the ship of this size is more fragile in bed weather condition than medium size vessel because it is too long and it can easier brake on half. There is no way that somebody can rescue or help us in that kind of weather, helicopter can't help because wind was so strong, visibility poor and enormous waves. Luckily, we went through without engine problem so now we can watch this video. This ship did not sink but it was really critical moments that we all went through since engine show disturbing working sound with a lot of vibrations. The Heaviest Surfing Wave In The world Teahupoo
The heaviest wave in the world is one of the most gnarly waves in the world. Teahupoo is a razor edge reef break in Indonesia. Laird Hamilton is documented to have ridden one of the heaviest waves in history there. On October 31, 2008 surfer Ian Walsh towed the biggest Teahupoʻo wave of the season. Video footage of this ride was later used in a Red Bull energy drink ad campaign seen around the world. Keala Kennelly was the first woman to tow-surf Teahupo'o in May 2005, getting a 10-foot barrel ahead of the Billabong Tahiti Pro contest. This challenging break has been conquered by many top windsurfers, including Jason Polakow and Levi Siver. Jeremie Eloy, Julien Sudrat and Yannick Salmon were the first kitesurfers to ride Teahupo'o on September 14, 2006

At the beginning of the video the sun rises behind the camera to light up the waves and shore birds. At 23:45 a body surfer enjoys the waves. At 1:01:16 I moved the camera just a bit to see some more body surfers who later use boogie boards. Body boarding is a surface water sport in which the surfer rides a bodyboard on the crest and face of a wave which is carrying the surfer towards the shore. Bodyboarding is also referred to as boogieboarding. The average bodyboard consists of a short, rectangular piece of hydrodynamic foam. Bodyboarders typically use swim fins for additional propulsion and control while riding a wave. High Tide was at 9:20am (about half way through the video). Filmed from 8am to 11am Marine Street Beach in La Jolla, Southern California (next to Mit Romneys house) on December 26, 2011 using a Canon HV30 and Zoom microphone. Marine Street Beach near the community of La Jolla, California is legendary to body surfers and body boarders because of its thunderous waves, which crash right at shoreline. However, this beach may not be ideal for families, as the rough surf is not well suited to children. The rough waves at this beach have been known to cause serious injury to swimmers and body boarders. Some play this video to relax or for insomnia to help them sleep.

Pendulum Waves
Fifteen uncoupled simple pendulums of monotonically increasing lengths dance together to produce visual traveling waves, standing waves, beating, and (seemingly) random motion. For more details see sciencedemonstrations.fas.harvard.edu The period of one complete cycle of the dance is 60 seconds. The length of the longest pendulum has been adjusted so that it executes 51 oscillations in this 60 second period. The length of each successive shorter pendulum is carefully adjusted so that it executes one additional oscillation in this period. Thus, the 15th pendulum (shortest) undergoes 65 oscillations. Our apparatus was built from a design published by Richard Berg [Am J Phys 59(2), 186-187 (1991)] at the University of Maryland. The Japanese coast guard released a video on Saturday showing the massive tsunami waves swelling in the sea off the coast of northern Japan, after the 9.0-magnitude earthquake struck offshore on March 11. A ferocious tsunami spawned by one of the largest earthquakes on record slammed Japan's eastern coast on Friday, killing hundreds of people as it swept away ships, cars and homes while widespread fires burned out of control. Police said 200 to 300 bodies were found in the northeastern coastal city of Sendai, the city in Miyagi prefecture, or state, closest to the epicentre. Another 137 were confirmed killed, with 531 people missing. Police also said 544 people were injured. New Wave Ramp at Rampworx
rampworx.com Over the past week the Rampworx team has been working day and night to put together this new ramp called "The Wave". The Wave was designed by Rampworx local and Etnies rider Anthony Watkinson. The ramp has an 18ft gap from the first hump to the 2nd. A whole host of tricks have already been pulled up and down the ramp by BMX, Rollerbladers and Skatebaorders. This is the 1st obstacle to be completed in the back section, stay tuned for the 2nd!
