Water as a material for art. Beautiful in so many ways. Jens Thoms Ivarsson started as stonemason and fireman before his career within design and art. Jens got his MFA at the School of Design and Craft (HDK) at the University of Gothenburg and Ravensbourne school of Design and Communication in London. Today Jens runs the company Thoms & Nilsson together with his friend and companion Mats Nilsson. Since 2003 the duo has worked with natural ice from the ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
