Blonk's performance of Kurt Schwitters' Ursonate is augmented with a modest but elegant new form of expressive, real-time, "intelligent subtitles." With the help of computer-based speech recognition and score-following technologies, projected subtitles are tightly locked to the timing and timbre of Blonk's voice, and brought forth with a variety of dynamic typographic transformations that reveal new dimensions of the poem's structure. This is a private issue LP from 1986. It was a gift when you opened a bank account @ the Verenigde Spaarbank. But it was also the debut for Jaap van Zweden as a conductor. The quadruple quartet by van Bree (1801-1857) is a quadraphonic (!) piece. The 4 separate string quartets were places in every corner of the concert hall. This Mendelssohnian piece is one of the best Dutch works from that period, and has been recorded by Sir Neville Marriner, Ferdinand Leitner and Viktor Lieberman.
