The Jackson Hole 888 Plan: SNOW
The verdict is still out on Herman Cain's 999 Plan for America, but the Jackson Hole 8-8-8 plan is really doing the trick: 80 inches of snow in 8 days, resulting in an 80" base. The storm that ended last week has left the mountain plastered in a deep blanket of snow. The storm of 2012 has been the biggest storm of the 21st century, and is only topped in recent memory by the 100" inch storm of 1976 that closed the entire mountain for over a week. All footage in this video was shot on location in Jackson Hole last week by KGB Productions.

The Jackson Town Downhill features the heart-throbbing Mini-Hahnenkamm course on Snow King with divisions for Pro, Recreation, Telemark, Junior, Fat and Baggy and Snowboard. The Jackson Hole Mountain Sports School and Teton Gravity Research launch a one of a kind ski and snowboard camp for youths! Forget reaching for the stars, come and shred with them -- Dash Longe and Chris Benchetler to be exact. New this winter the TGR Fall Line Camp will be the ultimate freeride experience held in the big mountain Mecca of Jackson Hole for middle and high schoolers who aspire to join the next generation of big mountain rippers and park & pipe superstars. Up and coming skiers and snowboarders will spend three days improving their fundamentals and learning to drop cliffs, jib features and rip turns with members of the TGR cast, the Jackson Hole Mountain Sports School's premier youth coaches, and TGR Grom contest winner Daniel Tisi.

Wolves in Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Update: The USFWS announced on April 18, 2012 that the white wolf shown in this video had been trapped and euthanized. The dark wolf remained. This video is of two wolves moving between two over 1-sq-mile open spaces through the back of our lot and our neighbor's 1-acre lot on Feb. 23 at 10 am. It is in the Indian Trails Subdivision in Jackson, WY. All kinds of wildlife move through this corridor all the time; moose, foxes, coyotes, mule deer, etc. This event has been characterized by news organizations as a "brazen approach" to area homes. It doesn't seem "brazen" to me, but two wolves moving between open spaces. These two deliberately avoided our driveway, veering away from our house choosing a more difficult path through deep snow.

Jackson Hole has Snow- Over 300" and laughing...
It's the February that March Dreams are Made of. The last 20 days of February have all had one thing in common: SNOW. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has received snow everyday for the last 20 days, and over 3 feet in the last week. Tales of a dry winter may have plagued the rest of the country, but Jackson is having another big winter, with above normal base depths at the upper mountain. As Jackson digs out from another foot in the last 24 hours the snow totals are now over 300" for the season. With fantastic coverage top to bottom March is off to a big start. Book now and pick from a number of great packages starting at under $90 per night per person including lift and lodging. The month will close down with the biggest party of the year: Mountain Festival - a weekend long celebration of skiing and riding set to the tune of G Love & Special Sauce - playing a huge free concert in Teton Village on March 31st. Mountain Festival weekend wouldn't be complete without the now 3rd annual Marmot Combs Classic and a number of other events.
