Aslam Jinnah

Quaid-e-Azam -- Mohammad Ali Jinnah's Great Grandson July 1, 2009 by Ayesha ayesha5.wordpress.com Last week the news about Jinnah's maternal great grandson Aslam Jinnah surfaced as to how miserable and poor life his family were living while being the great grandson of Jinnah he should have some recognition. I was wondering Jinnah had only one daughter Dina Wadia (nèe Jinnah). Dina got married to a Parsi born Indian Neville Wadia against the wishes of her father. Wikipedia states: Mahommedali Currim Chagla, who was Jinnah's assistant at the time, recalls: "Jinnah, in his usual imperious manner, told her that there were millions of Muslim boys in India, and she could have anyone she chose. Reminding her father that his wife (Dina's mother Rattanbai), had also been a non-Muslim, the young lady replied: 'Father, there were millions of Muslim girls in India. Why did you not marry one of them?' And he replied that, 'she became a Muslim'". Dina and Neville lived in Mumbai and had a son and a daughter. Dina's son Nusli Wadia is an industrialist and business tycoon. His sons -- Dina's grandsons and Jinnah's great grandsons are Ness Wadia and Jeh (aka Jehangir) Wadia. About Jinnah's rest of extended family: The only grandson of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is Nusli Wadia, Chief Executive Bombay Dying & Manufacturing Company and lives in Bombay. There is no other grandson of Quaid-i-Azam. The only great grandsons are sons of Nusli Wadia who also live in Bombay. Jinnah's daughter ...

Jinnah: The Legend

Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the voice of one hundred million Muslims, fought for their religious, social and economic freedom. Throughout history no single man yielded as much power as the Quaid-i-Azam, and yet remained uncorrupted by that power. Not many men in history can boast of creating a nation single handedly and altering the map of the world but Jinnah did so and thus became a legend.

Mohammad Ali Jinnah (25 December 25 1876 -- 11 September 11 1948) was a 20th century lawyer and statesman. As the founder of Pakistan, Jinnah is popularly and officially known in Pakistan as Quaid-e-Azam (Great Leader) and Baba-e-Qaum (Father of the Nation). Jinnah was liberal to his bones. Pakistan is the outcome of the Hindutva-dominated Indian Congress party leaders being unwilling to share power with the Muslims. Jinnah rose to prominence in the Indian National Congress initially expounding ideas of Hindu-Muslim unity and helping shape the 1916 Lucknow Pact between the Muslim League and the Indian National Congress; he also became a key leader in the All India Home Rule League. He proposed a fourteen-point constitutional reform plan to safeguard the political rights of Muslims in a self-governing India. Jinnah later advocated the Two-Nation Theory embracing the goal of creating a separate Muslim state as per the 1940 Lahore Resolution that Hindutva-dominated Indian Congress part rejected. In 1946, the All-India Muslim League won most reserved Muslim seats in the elections of 1946. It was a landslide vitory for Jinnah at a time when the Indian Congress party was dominated by Hindutva mob. After the British and Congress backed out of the Cabinet Mission Plan Jinnah called for a Direct Action Day to achieve the formation of Pakistan. As the Indian ...

"Jinnah was disgusted with losing matters in Sindh."

Ram Jethmalani said that Sindh, particularly Karachi, had some great lawyers. "If they had been practising in Delhi or Bombay, would have probably been at the top." He spoke about how Jinnah came thrice to Sindh after being engaged in some matters, and lost all three cases. "When Jinnah qualified for the Bar, he came to Karachi to practice. Jinnah belonged to the community of Khojas who were rich merchants and he expected to have a readymade clientele in Karachi. He went to a firm of Hindu lawyers called Harichandra and Co. Old Harichandra had interviewed him and once he said that he was perfectly qualified to practice, they had to settle the terms. Jinnah wanted hundred rupees, but the old Hindu miser was unwilling to go above seventy-five. I have always said, even in public, that Jinnah was not the cause of India's partition, but that old Hindu miser." Jinnah was disgusted with losing matters in Sindh. Khan Bahadur Khuro, a powerful Muslim League leader, had been accused of murder. When he approached Jinnah to represent him, Jinnah declined, perhaps because he realised he was never going to win a case in Sindh. Ram Jethmalani also spoke about Sindh being the cradle of Sufism, the gentlest form of Islam. He said that it was synonymous with the Kashmiriyat of Kashmir. Shah Abdul Latif, one of the greatest poets, was a product of Sindh. "We had developed a great synthesis between the two communities, that as a Hindu youngster, I would get my new clothes on Id and Muslin ...

Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah

The Quaid-i-Azam asserted that the new Sovereign State of Pakistan which had been won by peaceful methods and without dropping a single drop of blood, afforded him some satisfaction. In the course of his arduous work in that connection, it was the masses who came to him instinctively to help him and the intelligentsia came last. The achievement was without parallel in history. He accepted the Governor-generalship of the Dominion because he knew he was not the agent of an alien power but was the chosen representative of the people. Continuing, the Quaid-i-Azam adverted to what he characterized as the sacred duty cast upon them for solving the problem of poverty of the people. He was no believer in the mission of making the rich richer and the poor poorer. The task was difficult, of course, but they must make earnest efforts to promote the interests of the masses without necessarily disturbing the equilibrium in the bargain. "We must be just to both." He added Adverting to the minority question, the Quaid-i-Azam declared that he was no believer in formulae and paper resolutions. They were capable of being interpreted and misinterpreted. "Let us trust each other," roared the Governor-general designate and added; "Let us judge by results, not by theories. With the help of every section --I see that every class is represented in this huge gathering --let us work in double shift if necessary to make the Sovereign State of Pakistan really happy, really united and really powerful ...
