Joanna Lumley and the 'F' word

Joanna Lumley's use of the F word on the set of Absolutely Fabulous became a regular joke. (I put various bits from the five series and specials together for this video.) I personally adore this show (and mrs. Lumley) so this video is in no way meant to offend anyone, but just in case I did: I'm so sorry!

M&S Shwopping Advert with Joanna Lumley - Marks and Spencer 2012

Join the shwopping revolution at www.facebook.com We're starting a fashion revolution. It's called shwopping. M&S have a big idea - shwopping. It's time to open your mind, your heart, your arms and your wardrobe. Shwopping is a way of living and thinking, because we think that old clothes shouldn't just be thrown out, they should do some good. They should have a future. So every time you buy something new, give us something old - it doesn't even have to be from M&S. We'll pass the clothes on to our partners, Oxfam. Clothes are either resold, reused or recycled. It's brilliant because nothing goes to landfill. The money raised goes to help people in poverty. Remember when we used to just throw away bottles? Now we recycle them without even thinking about it. Well, why can't we do the same with clothes? We believe that recycling now will make your life easier in the future. Come into M&S stores with those trousers and jackets and shirts and jumpers and put them in the Shwop Drop. Our aim is to recycle as many clothes as we sell and change the way we shop. Forever. Come on, let's go shwopping. Find out more at www.marksandspencer.com

Joanna Lumley on The Full Wax (1992)

This is Joanna's second appearance on The Full Wax; here Ruby tries to convince her audience that she and Miss Lumley are actually very good friends and her appearance on last year's show was completely above board. This is considered by many to be the performance that inspired Jennifer Saunders to cast Joanna as Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous. I apologise in advance for any issues concerning the quality of this video. It's taken me a while to track this episode down and this was the only version I could find. In fact, I'm only uploading this because it's so bloody difficult to find and I've seen quite a few people requesting this episode on other Joanna Lumley/Ab Fab related videos. Anyway, enjoy the video! Comment, rate, subscribe and all that jazz. Or don't. It's really up to you! :) PS I do not own the contents of this video.

M&S Shwopping Launch Event - Joanna Lumley, Marc Bolland & Barbara Stocking - Marks & Spencer 2012

Join the revolution at www.facebook.com We're starting a fashion revolution. It's called shwopping. Shwopping means no more waste. Shwopping means no clothes to landfill. Everytime you go to buy something new, take something old. We want to take the lead as a big company to say come in, take your garments form your house and start shwopping. Today's filming we're here in Brick Lane on this old Truman Brewery they have rigged up just under 10000 garments which we've clad up on the walls, we've wrapped around the trees, we've put round the benches, we've even made a dog out of clothes. 10000 garments, which represents 5 minutes of clothes that go to landfill. It's absolutely shocking to think of how much we throw away. If you see that, that's actually rather embarassing so we should stop that and we should make sure that we create a world for the future where people are going to either reuse or recycle what we buy. You come to us, you're not only coming for your shop - you're coming to shwop and that is, I think the new trend that we want to set. This is the big launch of the huge idea of shwop drop, which is to go into your M&S with clothes that needn't be from M&S, any old clothes that you don't wear anymore, drop them in and those clothes will all go to Oxfam. We've been working with Marks & Spencer for several years, particularly with clothes exchange. People bring the clothes in, they get their voucher - go to Marks. Now this is an extension of that and it's even more ...

M&S Shwopping - Joanna Lumley Interview - Marks and Spencer 2012

Join the shwopping revolution at www.facebook.com We're starting a fashion revolution. It's called shwopping. Interview with Joanna: I'm excited by the idea of shwopping. It's about getting customers to recycle unwanted clothes every time they shop at M&S. Bring in something old, buy something new. Swap and shop. You see the thing about shopping or, kind of going shopping, a lot of people use it as something...a kind of feeling of a change in their life, they want a change, they want something to happen. You know you've bought something, you don't really need more of it. But if you've got rid of something, nature abhors a vacuum - so you feel you've got to buy something. Well that's brilliant on the retail side of it, because it means that you give something away and you automatically want to feel rewarded. Tragic. You know when it's time to shwop. The idea that you haven't hoarded, you've simply exchanged - you've simply shwopped, I think it's brilliant. Very exciting. So the whole sense of bringing stuff back to M&S is not alien, you're quite used to coming into M&S with a bag because it might be something that you want to exchange for a different size, or somebody has given you something in a colour that doesn't suit you and you want to swap it for another thing. To people coming into M&S with stuff, this is something that is a tradition already. I want shwopping to become as normal as - really, like putting a bottle in a bottle bank. The idea that throwing things away ...

Joanna Lumley Tribute

Here is a mysterious and exotic song, chosen to illustrate the aristocratic beauty of English actress Joanna Lumley. Joanna Lamond Lumley (born in 1946) is best known for her roles in the British television series "The New Avengers", "Sapphire and Steel", "Absolutely Fabulous" and "Sensitive Skin". She is also a former model, a human rights activist, and an animal welfare activist. She was born in Srinagar, India. After the independence of India in 1947, the Lumleys moved to Malaya (now Malaysia) and later settled in Kent, England. Lumley was educated at St Mary's School in Hastings, East Sussex, England, and afterwards attended the Lucy Clayton School of modelling. Tall, slim and blonde, she spent three years as a photographic model. She also worked as a house model for Jean Muir. Lumley appeared in an early episode of "The Bruce Forsyth Show" in 1966. Lumley did not receive any formal training at drama school. Her acting career began in 1969 with a small role in the film "Some Girls Do" and as a Bond girl in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"; she played the English girl among Blofeld's 'Angels of Death'. She went on to have a brief but memorable role in "Coronation Street", in which her character turned down Ken Barlow's offer of marriage. British Actress Joanna Lumley unveils Elmgreen & Dragset's Fourth Plinth Statue

British Actress Joanna Lumley unveils Elmgreen & Dragset's Fourth Plinth Statue "Powerless Structures, Fig. 101". Excerpt. Complete video: vernissage.tv The artists Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset put at new kid on the block: On February 23, 2012, the British actress Joanna Lumley unveiled the new temporary artwork for the Fourth Plinth in London's Trafalgar Square. Conceived by the artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset, the work is a 4,1 meters high golden bronze sculpture that portrays a boy riding a rocking horse. The sculpture is titled Powerless Structures, Fig. 101 and stands in striking contrast to the motives of historical heroes and proud equestrian statues on the other three bases. The Fourth Plinth is one of four bases that stand at the corners Trafalgar Square in central London. The two smaller southern plinths carry sculptures of Henry Havelock and Charles James Napier; the northern plinths were designed to carry equestrian statues. While the northeastern plinth was completed with a statue of George IV, the northwestern plinth, originally intended to hold an equestrian statue of William IV, remained empty because of insufficient funds. Built in 1841, the Fourth Plinth remained empty for over 150 years. Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset have finally added the missing equestrian statue to the Fourth Plinth, but their boy astride his rocking horse doesn't commemorate a glorious history, but is rather symbol for the future, and puts the past in a different ...

Joanna Lumley's GREEK ODYSSEY - Episode 10f4: The Land of the Ancient Greeks - Part 1/4

Episode 1 THE LAND OF THE ANCIENT GREEKS Joanna begins her Greek odyssey at the Parthenon in Athens, which was created by the ancient Greeks two and a half thousand years ago. This was the dawn of western civilisation, which saw the birth of democracy, language, science and medicine. From here Joanna travels around the southern region of Greece from Athens to the Peloponnese, visiting spectacular mythical and historic sites left by this great civilisation. These were places of theatre, death, sport and religion to the Ancients and they represent the very cornerstone of this empire. The Greeks flocked to these sites and Joanna follows in their footsteps. En route she meets modern Greeks who are still influenced by this ancient era. From the marble cutters on the Acropolis who continue to use the same tools as their ancestors, to the Englishman who now worships the god of Apollo at Greece's most sacred place, Delphi. Joanna's route takes her off the tourist trail to places where ancient myths and cultures live on. She meets villagers who communicate by whistling, a lady who lives a solitary life in an almost deserted village, surviving by eating wild plants and shrubs and a fisherman who takes her to the gates of Hades, the underworld, where the Ancients went when they died. Joanna finds inspiration in the isolated peninsula of the Mani, where its haunting tower house settlements and barren landscape seem unchanged for centuries. Episode 2 GREECE'S BORDERLANDS Joanna is travelling across the northern most regions of Greece, through an area that has been vastly influenced by the world around it, more so than anywhere else in the country. Her route is from the western Ionian island of Corfu to the turbulent eastern border it shares with Turkey and Bulgaria. It's a frontier-land where foreign invasion and occupation have left a fascinating legacy. The British ruled Corfu for 50 years. Joanna discovers how they left their mark with cricket, brass bands, ginger beer and the staunchest local anglophiles in "Kensington-on-sea". Oil wrestling is still a big hit in one isolated community. Another Muslim village has largely remained hidden from the modern world for decades, only now do the youngsters think of leaving to work in the city and beyond.
