This is our presentation for g/h 20. We were assigned to relate an english philosopher from the age of reason, to modern day pop culture. After researching some philosophers, we chose John Locke, becuase of the similarities with the character John Locke, off the popular tv show LOST. Some of the similarities they share are their views concerning destiny, nature vs. nurture and the tabula rasa theory. ENJOY

Some thoughts on John Locke's theory of knowledge
Locke's central premise in his epistemology is that all knowledge is grounded in experience. He also argues that we are born without innate knowledge, and that the mind is a blank slate: 'Let us then suppose the mind to be, as we say, white paper, void of all characters, without any ideas:- How comes it to be furnished? Whence comes it by that vast store which the busy and boundless fancy of man has painted on it with an almost endless variety? Whence has it all the materials of reason and knowledge? To this I answer, in one word, from EXPERIENCE. In that all our knowledge is founded; and from that it ultimately derives itself. John Locke, the one to save us all
THIS IS A CLIP FROM SEASON ONE, "HEARTS AND MINDS." NOT A RETARDED FAN MADE VIDEO! Interesting choice of words that possibly refer to season 5's finale. I have a growing suspicion that this new John Locke isn't all that new. Re-watching season one I feel as if John knows wayyyyyyy too much about everyone and the island!
