John Schneider decided to sell his beloved and famous General Lee, the 1969 orange Dodge Charger made famous on his Dukes of Hazzard TV show. The car has gone on to become one of the most valuable in the world; when the auction closed last week, bidding hit nearly $10 million, making the car the second highest vehicle auction price ever, and it became the highest bid ever on eBay. "The Promise" new VIDEO by John Schneider of "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "Smallville" fame! Note from John about the song: My buddy Phil Redrow (Tex in "Collier") is an amazing songwriter. Awhile back he played me a song called "The Promise". That song went right to my soul. . . Johnny Cash once told me that a song would find me one day that I would just have to record, no two ways about it. When I heard this song I knew it was the one the man in black had told me about. It's not that he knew that particular song it was more that he knew me well enough to know that it would be an amazing song that would put me back in the studio. Phil's song is the sad truth about what is happening in this country with the economy, the unemployment rate, the devalueing of the elderly. A song that asks a very tough question. I ask that you point as many friends toward it as you possibly can and ask that they do the same.
