I have released my 3rd CD called "AIR". I play music by: Dowland, Galilei, Weiss, Bach, Handel, Albinoni and Pachelbel. All, popular classical pieces that I have been asked to record on a CD. You can order it from my website per-olovkindgren.com and soon also listen to sound samples there. ____________________________ I thought you needed something different than my 'Love Songs' this time. :-) Well, this is made with love too! For JS Bach. This Prelude has two parts: Passagio - Presto. I play the Passagio very different from the "usual" way of playing it. I think Bach wanted it to be more like an improvisation. (knowing he was mostly know in his time for his improvisations!! Can you imagine what we missed)!? Anyway... I play it very free but in the Presto part I am just as 'strict' as Bach probably wanted it to be. I have to ask him when I meet him after life. :-) The Presto (Italian: Fast) is also a Fugue; the same theme is introduced little by little in different voices. (Kind of complicated). As Oscar Wilde once said: A Fugue is a piece of music where the voices enter one after the other... and the audience leave, one after the other. :) I hope you are still there after this ended. Sor's Op 6 no 8, one of his best known studies. Not having a reverb for the Monserrat monastery (where Sor was educated) I've used the one for the Chapelle Jean Baptiste in Toulouse. Guitar by Simon Ambridge. Please note that in bar 10 I opted to play the first edition version with the B on the first beat, and in bars 12, 14 and 16 I played the ornaments as long leaning notes, rather than the short acciaccaturas you often hear.

For higher quality fr.youtube.com Nr.2 from the Estudios Sencillos is marked Coral, Lento (=slow). Brouwer gives a total time indication of 2'00". I feel that if you try to play it at roughly that speed, it brings out the beautiful choral harmonies, sounding like church bells. The great thing about the classical guitar is that you can produce so many different sounds on the instrument. This "simple" study allows you try and create these sounds at an early stage. Try it yourself!
