Sunday is the first day in a week of mourning in Poland for the 96 victims of the tragic plane crash in western Russia. President Lech Kaczynski's body has arrived in Warsaw and has been carried through the streets to the presidential palace. The body of the wife of Poland's late President has been returned to Warsaw where she will lie in state next to her husband. Throughout the day, thousands are expected to file past the two coffins to pay their final respects. Today is one year since the Polish President (Lech Kaczyński) was killed. Here is a brief story as to what happened on Saturday April 10 2010: Lech Kaczynski, the president of Poland died on Saturday, April 10 2010, in an airplane crash in Western Russia, along with his wife and other top military and parliament officials. A total of 97 people died in the plane crash. Kaczynski, 60, had been traveling with a Polish delegation to Russia for the 70th anniversary of the Russian massacre of Polish prisoners of war in the village of Katyn. It is obvious that this "catastrophe" was planned out. For those who know little about this.. Russians have all 3 of the flight recorders, and they have have cut-down nearby trees of this scene, ect. The weather condition the morning of this catastrophe was foggy. And the traffic controllers gave the pilot false directions. Now it has been one full year (365 days) and Poland has minimum information about this "catastrophe".

Protesters in Poland have saved a temporary cross to the late president, from being moved from outside Warsaw's Presidential palace. The wooden cross was placed there following the Smolensk plane crash that killed Lech Kaczynski and 95 others. President elect, Bronislaw Komorowski, doesn't want the religious symbol outside a government building. Palace officials eventually relented saying they didn't want the cross to be part of a political game.

Polish investigators have concluded pilot error was to blame for last month's plane crash which claimed the lives of the country's president and many of its top officials. The plane crash that killed Polish President Lech Kaczynski on Saturday gutted a nation's leadership and silenced some of the most potent human symbols of Poland's tragic and tumultuous history. It was, literally, a nation colliding with its past: The plane ran aground on a patch of earth near the remote Russian forest glade called Katyn, where more than 20000 members of Poland's elite officer corps were executed and placed in unmarked graves by Soviet secret police in 1940. In a bizarre twist, the crash happened at the moment Russia and Poland were beginning to come to terms with the Katyn massacre. "It is a damned place," former President Aleksander Kwasniewski said. "It sends shivers down my spine."
