Kerry Livgren (founding member of the band Kansas and writer of "Dust In The Wind" & "Carry On Wayward Son") speaks openly about why he disbanded Kansas to form the group AD. From the 2000 album Collectors Sedition and re-released on the 2007 album Collectors Sedition Directors Cut. In 2000 Livgren was going through a particularly prolific songwriting period and he realized that most of these songs were Kansas like!He contacted Phil Ehart and suggested doing a new Kansas album and gave Ehart and Kansas the pick of the bunch.This became "Somewhere To Elsewhere". There were still many great songs left of the compilation of demos for those sessions so Kerry put together "Collectors Sedition". Later he regretted releasing those songs in demo form so he went back and gave them the royal treatment which became "Collectors Sedition Directors Cut! At this time Kansas was one of the top grossing acts in the world so the record company decided to indulge Walsh and Livgren and fund their own solo projects. Livgren put together an all star cast for this project and hand picked Dio to sing two songs on this album. Quite a dichotomy: the newly born again Christian and the inventor of the devil horns sign! As always Livgren made the perfect choice. Steve Walsh sings backing vocals on this song.
