Kolibri - Humming Bird Hatching
Kolibri, nesting and rising its children. The IBC (Internet Bird Collection) has identified the species as an Amazilia tzacatl (Rufous-tailed) Hummingbird. Nesting in Cartagena de Indias, Caribbean in the middle of our small garden. Surprisingly the Kolibri was not disturbed by our children who often take a bath only 3 meters away from the nest. The movie was made with a Panasonic NV-GS300 in PAL 1040(720)x576 anam. widescreen.

Inspired by the the blooming flowers in my backyard I did this "traditional four gentlemen" painting to celebrate the Chinese LNY and the up coming Lantern Festival (Feb 18). The background music are some traditional Chinese Spring Festival songs generally known as 迎春接福or "welcome spring and prayers for happiness." Hope it adds some fectival mood to this painting. www.youtube.com Automatic gameplay demo. Kolibri is a free roaming back and forth side scroll shooter brought to you by the makers of Ecco the Dolphin. The play mechanic is almost similar to Ecco. You fly around as a hummingbird shooting what looks like magic bubbles at bees, hornet and insects, avoid getting eaten by the big frog. The 32X is and module device that plugs on top of the Sega Genesis. It upgrades the Genesis to enhance the processor and graphics engine. Only a few games were made for the 32X including Kolibri. Kolibri Turbine on Multiplex Funjet
This was the maiden flight of a Multiplex FunJet fitted with a Lambert Kolibri turbine jet engine I got from SinCityJets. It's not a great video but it was SUCH A RUSH to fly this thing for the first time! I have a couple better videos with this same jet using a catapult launcher that are also on youtube under my user name coreybrixen.

Kolibri on a Twister : first flight
Lambert Kolibri on a Multiplex Twister The kolibri thrusts more than 1½ Kg, at 240.000 RPM, idle is 98.000 RPM, Fuel is 350 mL Jet A1. Twister is stock, except a little grinding to place tank in duct, nossle is removed, a mount for the turbine is constructed in it's place, elevator is reinforced. Ever have a laptop, that you thought couldnt be used for anything ever agian cause of its age? Well the people developing KolibriOS are trying to make a statement that your old hardware may still have some life left in it! No this isnt linux, this is a GUI OS made in something called Assembly, light coding. No fancy graphics or anything here, even though the OS supports ATI cards, AC97 Audio and a variety of network cards. It all runs in Ram, so responses from the machine, even on this old dusty brick its kinda quick. No theres no hard drive in there, This is all Floppy driven here, just look at that amazing boot-up time! xD --- Just a note about that Russian thing, the song it was going to play was the Russian anthem, which it decided to not play it. Just to get any mis-understandings out of the way. Multiplex twister build & Lambert Kolibri turbine first run
Some still pictures of the build of the Multiplex Twister complete with Park Flier Plastics canopy kit and decals made on my laser cutter, the white paint used was plasticoat from B&Q. The turbine for the model was from Martin Lambert at www.kolibri-jets.de, a superb quality engine and a very helpful guy. Engine run on jet A1 & Aeroshell 500 (20 parts to 1). It just remains to install the engine in the Twister and wait for a good day - move video then!

Kolibri turbine powered Multiplex Twister jet first outing
First trip out with the lambert Kolibri Turbine powered Multiplex Twister. Three sucessful flights were made in total, shame the strip was so wet but no damage done. Everything came together nicely with the bungee launch system working well and the engine performing faultlessly.

Flyfly F100 super sabre with Lambert Kolibri P20 turbine - first flight and flame out
First flight of the Flyfly (hobby topgun) F100 Super Sabre and Lambert Kolibri P20 turbine. First flight at LADMAS site in Halsall, a nice level and open site but a bit too much surface roughness for the lightweight Flyfly undercarriage. During take off one main leg is dislodged and as it collapses the tail of one bomb is broken off but it still gets away. While i'm thinking about how best to set it down, the thirstier than expected P20 drains the tank in under 5 mins and i end up heading down wind and towards a drainage ditch. The F100 just about manages a U turn before hitting the deck. Despite the loud arrival there was no real damage and it was all back togther in the evening. Extra stiffening plates were added around the u/c mounting points and i guess i'm in the market for a bigger tank. Please comment/rate - thanks

Kolibri turbine powered Flyfly MB339 on New Years day
Some stills and video of the conversion and first two flights of the Flyfly MB339 fitted with the Kolibri turbine. The unit produces 15N of thrust at 242000rpm. The model looks like it will be a delight, rock steady in the air and exceptionally low landing speed. I just need to get some quality undercarriage, as the kit supplied parts are just too weak, given the extra weight and a rough frozen strip.

Probably one of the stranger games in the 32x game library released in 1995. In this game you play as a hummingbird or kolibri which gets powers from a crystal that originated from another world. And there is something about a "dark crystal" and how it corrupts the world... bla bla bla... yeah. You kill insects with cluster bombs, lasers and various other stuff shooting out of your beak. And toads are very evil in this game :O

Kolibri FunJet Turbine World's Smallest Jet Engine
This thing sounds so awesome! Multiplex Funjet with a Kolibri turbine engine. Approx 150 mph at 3/4 throttle. Runs about 5 minutes on 12 oz of Jet A1 kerosene. It can also hand launch, but I prefer the catapult so I can keep my hands on the controls since it gets out there pretty quick! Thanks to my flying buddy Michael for his video camera work on this one!

Second outing with Flyfly Aermacchi MB339 with Kolibri turbine power. I spent yesterday stripping and rebuilding the stock Flyfly Oleo legs and mountings, changing all the rivets for nuts and bolts, changing the 3mm mounting rods for M4 socket head cap screws tapped into the legs and locating the clamps with grub screws, heavy grease provided some damping; all seemed to do the trick - retracts now required for a bit more speed. I know removing the ordnance would do it but it just looks so good in place!

This is a quick overview on starting the new Kolibri turbine by Lambert Microturbines out of Germany. We are currently the exclusive distributor for Lambert Microturbines in the US While there is a sequence to the start-up, following it gets the turbine started the first time every time.
Kolibri Powered BobCat 25
This BobCat 25 is powered by a Lambert Kolibri Nano-Turbine. The Turbine puts out three pounds of thrust and weights about 7 ounces. The total weight of the plane is ~4.5 pounds. This thing is as stable as a full-size BobCat and is a blast to fly. The engine is $3000 and the plane is $80!
