2 cups scalded milk, 1/2 cup butter room temperature, 2/3 cup sugar,1 teaspoon salt, 4 eggs beaten in a bowl, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 7 cups of bread flour or high gluten flour sifted in a bowl 2 Tablespoons of dry yeast. ( Mix hot milk & butter together add 1 teaspoon of sugar from the 2/3 cup add salt together let it sit in bowl till lukewarm. Add liquid ingredients then add flour and then eggs then add yeast . If using a bread machine make a well in the flour and add yeast. Once dough is made cut into donuts and let rise till double Roll dough 1/2 inch in thickness for donuts Let rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Fry donuts in hot shortening, or oil 1- 1 1/2 minutes on each side till light golden brown dry on paper towels. Glaze: 3 cups powder sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, 1/2 cold water mix till well blended dip donuts into glaze on drying rack till set. In a charity race Saturday, more than 5000 runners ran two miles to a downtown Raleigh Krispy Kreme shop, ate a dozen glazed doughnuts each and returned to North Carolina State University in less than an hour. That's 2400 calories and 144 grams of fat consumed while burning about 400 calories during the run. The student-run Krispy Kreme Challenge raised about $35000 for the North Carolina Children's Hospital. The event began on a dare among college friends in 2004. Then-freshman Ben Gaddy won the first race by beating nine guys in about a half-hour.

How fast do you think you could eat it in.. well He thought 5 minutes.. and here is the challenge caught on video in the breakroom...a dozen doughnuts in under 5 minutes. these doughnuts are just off the line and cooled slightly for two minutes as to avoid burning.. quite impressive I must say.. and we believe this would be impossible if they were not hot.
